Has anyone used a marine battery with about a 1250 watt inverter that is not attached to the truck. You could run a 1100 watt microwave (thats about 600 cooking watts) for about 20 minutes before draining the battery. Recharge could be through the cigarette lighter plug. Would have to be careful to recharge while engine is running and unplug from cigarette receptacle before using an appliance. Could be done for about $250.00 for a good quality marine battery and a modified sinewave inverter plus battery box and cables. I would think the company policy is no large inverter connected to the truck battery and since the recharge is through the cigarette lighter your not breaking the rules. For safety, devise a strap down to secure the battery so it won't be a projectile in a crash. Just a thought I have not tried it myself.
