That's too bad. I've yet to have a bad experience at Black Bear Diner.
Black Bear used to have a broccoli chicken dish on their menu that was delicious. It had an open chicken breast with cheese, broccoli florets, and was covered in a rich creamy sauce.
I wish they would bring that dish back to the menu. The chocolate cream pies are also quite good.

Been to the one in Woodland a few times nothing but good servers there. Food is close to Dennys but I think it is better. I do like their breakfast which is the only thing I order thereREO6205 Thanks this.

I haven't noticed much difference between the two.

Maybe I just hit them on a bad day but I ate at the one in Gridley every day for a week and it wasn't the best experience I ever had.
I don't think I'm too picky but when my silverware arrives clotted with dried food, my coffee cup has some kind of scum on it that my fingernail can scrape, the waitress is picking through her hair while she takes my order, the cook is blowing his nose on a dish towel and I have to ask three times for the check I get a little testy. That was my last meal there.Blue jeans, InTooDeep, RockinChair and 1 other person Thank this. -
And A LOT bigger price tag.
