Ok this proves what exactly? Some airlines are rerouting flights away from the North Pole. WTF does that have to do with using GPS to navigate a vehicle on established roads thousands of miles from the North Pole? Nothing. But just to be on the safe side, I've called my dispatcher and let him know that I will not under any circumstances accept any loads going to the North Pole from here on out. Thanks for the tip.
is 350 a week normal?

If May or Werner were my only options I'd go with Smith and Wesson and put a bullet through my brain.

staying to make 350 a wk?
now i thought that if in an industry, people stayed on for such a small amount it would in time change the industry standard to such. So if people always stayed on for such a small amount in time would kill it.
am i crazy or is this just common sense thinkingDna Mach Thanks this. -

honestly i have nooo clue of the industry vs you guys with the experience but i mean its common sense. If people all stayed on for such crappy pay in time the companies will just offer that crappy pay..if people demand more or work for people that offer more guess what, the pay will probably match or do better

I don't know but too put it into perspective....I'm most positive $500-600 a week is probably all a new driver can expect even today. Not great but it's not $350 a week either. I knew trucking companies were in no hurry to increase driver pay but it's amazing and insulting that a select few have managed to reverse it.
It's not like you can get a second job to get by on. -
just seems like 350 a week would pay for your food(in the truck) and pay a cable bill...lol

I believe that a rookies goals for their first year go in this order...
1. Experience
2. More experience
3. getting comfortable with the lifestyle of trucking
4. money
With experience, and time behind the wheel, money will come. You've only been there for a couple of months, and in those months you had to deal with Christmas, and New Years. Each month behind the wheel, freight, and miles get better and better. Stick it out until you can really say you have some experience.jgremlin, airforcetoo and Jimmeyjack Thank this. -
Look, I'm a wannabe but use the search button for past threads at May for FIRST YEARLY income and your answer is going to be there. May is one of the better starter companies though -- for what I have read -- and it SEEMS to me that there is more value in this forum coming from guys like Gravedigger who will tell you how to keep cost low, or from threads about how to deal with tricky weight situations or e logs macros and stuff than to ask opinions about leaving one company for another.
Hey, I read that a good trick to get your DM to like you is to send him a post card from a truck stop saying "You probably miss your trucking days -- thank you for keeping me rolling!!!" NOW DON'T EVERY ONE IN THIS FORUM GET CUTE AND STEAL THIS FROM ME --> I AM ONLY HELPING HIM!!!
