When I bought my KW the first thing that got hauled to the scrap pile was the rubber block walking beams.

Yea it's on, I don't run many more if any more miles than you. Now that my daughter is in college that may change lol. I guess my stance on fuel millage may too. But for now being able to mash the throttle have that instant can't wipe away grin is why I still do it some days. KIMG0132.JPG

On that IH, I would wire the seat adjuster open, to get some sort of isolation in the seat. I had heard of drivers sitting on a wheel barrow inner tube. Oh yeah, "the good ol' days".

The doser than injects fuel to create the regen is only triggered when a regen is needed. Once it is needed it further only kicks in at speeds above 50 miles per hour. So Idling are bad, running below 50 miles per hour is bad also no matter the high EGT's going through the exhaust.

So logic says do a parked regen as soon as possible after load is done but there is no way to know if it is already past the point of no return meaning what if the ash quotient was too high at the point of the parked regen it won't do any good, the system was trying to tell the driver an hour ago it needed a regen desperately but the driver needed to get that load done not parked on the side of the road regenning 28 miles from delivery.

Most of the trucks out here are spec'd to 10 horsepower per ton of weight hauled give or take. Then gear ratios can come into play depending onthe region. Some trucks are geared to work best overall in all terrains, do OK in mountains and OK in flats. But if the truck is only doing mountains or only doing flats the truck can be spec'd for that to get max efficiency out of the horsepower available.

10 hp per ton huh? So all these road tractors are specced with 230 hp engines? Really?
