i had to clean out the truck earlier today. so-cal division wanted their 70mph truck back. g'luck on getting to go that quick in cali without attracting the wrong kind of attention! it was fun while it lasted. i was told to take the next few days off. i bet this'll turn into another week or two of sitting around for another truck.
Is anyone else having any problems with Knight?

No really, how do you get through a office once a week?
-
Why does So-Cal want that unit back? They had PILES of trucks sitting when I rolled through the Fontana yard, uh Monday?
-
Out of Katy, Gulfport, Hutchins, Memphis, Hutchins, EL Paso, Tulsa, Kansas City, Phoenix, Fontana, Atalanta, Lakeland, Lebanon, or Denver, I get by one of those weekly. If not I get by a FAX machine at least once an hour or if not I call my safety man if it gets close to an expiration date. Why are you so hell bent on wondering how I run with the proper permits ?
-
3.14 they are turning all trucks down to 64/62 cruise is 2 mph slower/ they figure your foot will get tired and your cruise will come on and they got you running 61.5 mph and getting 6,8 mpg. that is what the bean counters want so they can off set the high idle time (over 20%) (Gulfport is a peice of "S" that guy Safety Manager David is a " A " hole and the Operations Mangler is dumb as a stump!
I always see Donkeys trying to catch the carrot on the stick, Don't be a Donkey! -
Also don't be one of the ones that's sits around wondering how someone could be "dumb enough" to drive for Knight, as their looking out of the windshield of their Knight truck.
-
When did I get so stupid that I actually believed the lies Knight's recruiters told me? What the hell was I thinking?
My doctor told me diesel fumes makes your pecker bigger and does something to your brain, but I forgot what it was!!!Mooch Thanks this. -
No, I just wondered how you got a set of permits before the rest of the company did. You musta got one of those special trucks, with a wayback machine in it, for picking up loads on tuesday that needed to be there the monday before!
-
No wayback truck but I do routinely pick up freight on a Tuesday that was supposed to picked up on Saturday. Actually it seems most loads are always behind, wonder why that could be ?
-
dunno. i didn't ask. the engine fan on that unit wasn't really working all that well, anyway. 2 weeks ago while i was running several loads throughout the day from hutchins down to san marcos, then up to temple to pick up, deliver in waco, picked up there, too, and then made my way to mesquite. while on the delivery from the yard to san marcos, the truck overheated pretty bad. the truck overheated again as i arrived at the customer in mesquite. that time, the truck wasn't going anywhere. i opened the hood, and got splashed by a volcanic eruption of coolant. i reported it 3 times to three different shops, and they all told me they couldn't do anything about it. i even told my safety guy. nothing was done about. good riddance. it'll be joaquin's problem now. it'll also be a problem for the unfortunate person who'll have to deal with it.
