Is freight really the slowest in 20 years??

What is a Euroglider? Is that meant as a racial thing? Someone from another country that drives a Volvo instead of an old cabover? LOL

Also, I think you might be surprised if you knew just how well some of those guys are actually doing.

Not well but still beats driving a company truck. I’m addicted to the freedom of owning my own truck. The last two weeks we were out we only cleared $5000 so decided to go home for a couple of weeks. If things don’t improve by Sept we’re headed to LS. My driver manager has a mom that works for Tsmt and their DOD freight is also really slow. The military budget has not changed so I really cannot explain the reduced volume other than maybe a lot of the units that would normally be training with live ammunition are down on the border pretending to be border patrol.

 

That’s absurd, obviously people weren’t around 08’-09’ (the Great Recession) freight was so slow companies were parking trucks, laying off drivers, and cutting cpm pay.

 

Actually..In 08' When fuel was touching $5 per gallon- I did pretty good that year with the heavy 40% fsc with many customers.
