It’s been so long forgot I posted here. I stopped all my medication awhile back since then been healing mentally so at least that part has been going well, just not the GED part.
Is getting a CDL class A harder than getting a GED?

Possession of a diploma, be it GED, high school or college isn't proof of intelligence or wisdom. I can tell by your writing you are not intellectually stunted. To put a blunt point on it... plenty of truly moronic individuals somehow get diplomas and somehow thrive. I'm sure you understand that it is easier to learn a subject IF it is of a true interest to you. If you really DESIRE to be a truck driver you will want to and easily consume all the learning and could be successful. If you think it's something you can do easily to use it as a vehicle for escaping your current situation you will not be as successful. Likewise the industry doesn't need more bottom tier drivers. So in my estimation the question really is this and only you have the true answers. Do YOU want to be a 1st tier driver or are you just look for a way out?

I’m not the sharpest cracker in the box. Math was a real mofo for me in school. Basic math wasn’t hard but when the algebra crap started I had hell. A lot of the CDL stuff is memorization. We practiced the air brake test thingy so many times I could do it in my sleep. Best of Luck on your endeavors.

lol it’s mostly spell check. Well trucking seems like my only option at this point. I’m good staying in small spaces and keeping to myself so was thinking OTR would be awesome. Maybe fuel hauling for extra pay or hazardous materials. It’s something I’m thinking of doing long term and building a career out of it so yea I’d strive to be the best.Rideandrepair and austinmike Thank this.

I just learned there is a national student clearinghouse to verify HS and college diplomas. But it costs $20 per query. Is a trucking company going to spend that much for an applicant? I guess they may have some negotiated cheaper rate.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I figured something like this exists. You would think every company would use it to protect themselves for insurance purposes.

I've never been asked to see a high school diploma for any job I've had in my entire life. Sure there may be exceptions, but it's never happened to me.

There's not much math in trucking. Some subtraction, more division. All of it simple and everyone with a calculator.Rideandrepair, FutureTrucker2046 and Chinatown Thank this.
