Is it reasonable to ask for 6 weeks off?

I just double checked and SNi wants hazmat to start any tanker position. I’ll have to come up with a plan to get my endorsement before I got there. Amazon and Uber all of sudden make sense for 2 months again….

Call them and talk to a recruiter, if you haven't. Yeah it takes 10 days to 2 months for your finger prints to clear. At least it does for me. Get the TWIC screening too. It's the same background check.

I don't know if you need to pass the hazmat multiple guess test first or you can get finger printed first. I have had my hazmat for over a decade.

What no one else apparently will tell you:

Many of these better-paying hazmat tanker jobs require you to wear outfit generally called, "PPE".

Something about "personal protective equipment".....or similar.

When you put on/take off/wear that stuff....especially in/during summertime heat & humidity....you will quickly come to understand/realize (in part) why hazmat tanker pays pretty well.

That's true. 110 F in El Paso, TX while wearing a PVC jacket, pants, hard hat. I always turned cab A/C on max, so if/when I got heat stroke I had a cold place to go

I have worn an acid suit in August Texas. It was 105'F. I poured a whole bunch of water on my head to stay cool. I probably started and stopped the offload 2 times just so I wouldn't overheat. I was super pisseed at dispatch. I never yell or curse at them. I did that day. I asked if I have to unload it. They said no. I get there, I have to do it.

FYI (for the travelers out there in the red light district of a foreign land)…

    The dudes will have

    1. Hair, nails and makeup done up to a much higher degree than the average woman
    2. Store bought gravity defying tits.

In other words, the dudes will usually be the hotter, more glamorous in a group of women working in the oldest profession.
