I'm okay with Verizon. I'm paying for a large amount of data and paying well for it. But I want to know it's there when I need/want it. I'm going to drop to a smaller data plan soon once PFJ gets more of their sites updated with wifi. $100 for 12 is not bad and we only fuel PFJ so it just makes sense for me to stay with a solid carrier that I know works every.
Is it true, Verizon? ,

Your paying less with TMobile... in return.. you get less.
I've tried them all. No one comes close to the quality and coverage area that Verizon has. My business depends on it.
I do not like the data rates.. but its like comparing a Cadillac to a Honda. Sure the Honda gets better fuel mileage... but its no Cadillac.
Besides... my phone is a tax write off
So I really dont care.

As long as I'm OTR I won't consider another carrier.
Unless they could actually compete with data coverage. I'm more likely to win the lottery.
Guess it helps I never have to pay for data overages. -

i've had verizon unlimited data for about 10 years
i only check my data uses about 1-3 times a year... always around 65-80 gig's a month
verizon has never slowed my data and has never said a word about how much i use
about 3-4 months ago they did tell my that i could upgrade to 4g (right now i have a 3g mifi) if i wanted to for a extra $20 a month and keep my unlimited data -
And Verizon came out with XLTE in areas, which is the lower freq's they got the rights to when many tv broadcasters went digital.
@tucker, since Netflix changed their data compression a while back, I don't get anywhere near 100 gig any more. 65-70 is max anymore.
As far as throttling 4g on Verizon, they are forbidden by the government from doing it. They threatened to a year or so ago, but the FCC said if they did, they would void the agreement they had with them for usage rights because it specifically says in the agreement that they can't artificially restrict users speed. Verizon backed off, I believe this is a way to tell the Fed's to F off. 1% of users use "excessive" data? Oooooo, with all the customers Verizon has, what is that 5-10,000 customers across the entire network. Sounds like nothing more than a money grub to me.Last edited: Sep 8, 2016

That icon is similar to what my Note phone shows. Its LTE. For the sake of argument... we can call it4G. But its technically their LTE signal. Even with just 1 or 2 bars.. you should still have a faster data rate than 3g with full bars.
You should notice at times if you are on the phone talking... that icon will change to either 1g or 2g icon. When using hot spot.. the only way to keep data and voice together at the same time, you need to be on an LTE signal. I want to say voice and data wont work together when on 3G.. but I am not 100% sure on that. I think it might depend on the phone model.
The lower frequencies work best in rural areas. It travels farther and it goes through walls better than the higher frequencies. The only draw back is that it wont reach the higher end of what LTE is capable of. Doesnt really matter as most areas the data rate is capped much lower anyway. So you wouldnt notice much if any difference.

When I get home I'm dumping Verizon. My contract was up in june. $120 to 150 a month was normal at verizon.
total wireless is $35 a month unlimited talk and text and 5gb. You add 3 gb as needed for $10.
