I don't want my unit run like crazy, when they took hours to load/unload my trailer.
Is there a way to keep the unit just low idle speed?

Yes. I have a low idle switch that was installed by my reefer mechanic.

When you’re in the door and they open up and start loading and the unit goes nuts go out what temperature it came up to readjust your temperature setting to that temperature put it on continuous. It’ll just hum at 45° or whatever the unit says it was and when they’re done and you close the doors, then drop it back down.

Or just turn it off because all you're doing is refrigerating their warehouse, not your trailer. The trailer will equalize with the warehouse regardless of how hard the reefer is working.

Some places don't allow the reefer to be turned off while loading.

Yes, keep it running, and you can avoid a lot of arguments sometimes.

Yeah it's not much money but for me it's the modern trailers with the roof chute that will push all the air out of the trailer and pull air from the warehouse. Maybe while the dock door is closed it'll work decently but when it's open it's doing absolutely nothing for your trailer. Probably actually detrimental.

What unit do you have? The sbs were easy to kill high speed on, precedents were no so much but still doable

I leave my bulk head up as much as possible
