Asking this question is like a plumber standing in 2 feet of water and water coming out every wall, floor, and ceiling asking where is the leak? This question as asked is IMPOSSIBLE to answer! I will say this, however! Truckers that have 3 to 5 years of SAFE driving experience, noted for making their pickups and deliveries on time every time are working! Just about every carrier in existence would pay their weight in gold to get them driving their trucks. The other drivers are a dime a dozen. This is a brutal truth and I will not apologize for my statement. Yes, there are some other issues with the pandemic and California's restrictive laws. Still, is there a trucker shortage? Well, that just depends.

    No it doesn't.
For example if there are 10 lanes that need to be filled but only 5 show up for orientation and 2 disappear the day after the drug test is still a driver shortage.
Not that I think that's the problem, but just because 1 person shows up for orientation has little bearing on if there is a shortage or not.

Real slow....They are having plenty to choose from but after they start they won’t last long. Oh wait I guess that means there’s a worker shortage. Oh Nevermind I realized I was using common sense. I’ll stop that. My bad.

Or you could learn to read....
All that was said is the simple fact of people going to orientation, in and of it self, doesn't have anything to do with driver shortage or not.

I read fine. There is no driver shortage or worker shortage. People are tired of being treated like a doormat. So they move on.

    Dave_in_AZ and dwells40 Thank this.
