Thanks - I appreciate this insight. I really enjoyed being in the Navy and traveling. I was on 2 WestPac cruises in 3 years, so I spent a lot of time on the ship at sea (17 months total). But you can get up and walk around on a ship - not exactly the same as sitting in a 'box' all day.
I also enjoyed traveling across the country and camping along the way - we had a pop-up camper - which I can only imagine is what it'd be like sleeping in a truck.
Obviously there are a lot of things about truck driving that don't come to mind when thinking about a career or 'Lifestyle' - and there are a lot of things that just can't be 'explained'.
It seems it's one of those things you just have to 'do' to really know what it's like. And since everyone is different and handles every situation differently, what's good / bad for one person might not be so for another. Everyone has certain things they can handle, that others would blow a gasket about.
In the meantime, it'd help to get as much information as possible to go into it with my eyes open, rather than wake up to a nightmare and find I was dreaming.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Is this crazy or what?

Does anyone here know much about May Trucking? Im trying to find out as much as I can before I accept their offer. Any info would be great.

A friend of mine drove for them. They have a terminal here in N.FL. Pretty decent company, fair pay, nice equipment. I have no extremely bad or extremely good things to report. Decent well rounded company.
shawbag Thanks this. -
