Hate dealing with Capstone. You could refuse to sign it until it has been filled out and the count is done. Pretty sure that won't fly or go over well, but it is what it is. It all depends on whether your company will have your back on it or not.

I'm sure they're used to everyone just signing it and not caring. They know they're going to break or smash some inventory or some is always damaged in transit and they'd rather not have to go back and forth with the driver when they come across it.

Choose your battles wisely. Is this a hill you want to die on [figuratively speaking]?

Are you able to count/watch for damages?

    Did you count/watch when loaded?

I’m not taking responsibility for something someone else did.

Then I won’t sign, because if they just say it’s wrong, it’s your fault, you e signed a paper sayin you’d accept responsibility.
Get out a notebook paper and write down you expect detention after 15 minutes of waiting, after arriving and want $100/hour plus meals furnished.

    See if they’ll sign that.

I’d refuse and return load if need be.
I’ll say you 10 cases short, you just bought 10 cases.
