I am having issues with a ISX Cummins it keeps saying low coolant but it’s topped up, I bypassed the prongs coming off the sensor only 2 prongs there but still showing the light. It’s one of them hard plastic reservoirs. Even when I disconnect the plug
From the sensor still says low coolant!! Multi meter is saying .5k ohms off the sensor
ISX 550

Try putting a magnet on the end of a
The sensor for a minute.
It's actually usually the float inside the tank that goes bad.
The fix is to replace the whole tank -
The float is stuck or sunk. Replace the entire surge tank, comes with a new sensor.
Make sure the wiring pins to the sensor are good and replace them if needed. When you wedge a wire or paperclip in the pins they get spread and wont make good contact anymore.Judge Thanks this. -
K thanks guys I heard of that issue before but was hoping was something else. Magnet I’ll try and see what it will give me. If magnet doesn’t change anything on the sensor then still a tank problem?

Yep agree, gotta change the entire tank.
Mine did that last year when it started to get colder outside.
Got mine through parts geek.com was a lot cheaper than KW. -
