On the baby food subject, it is another media created deal. No baby food? Mama is enough up to a certain age and then all a mother has to do is cook and puree whatever she eats , and she has baby food. There is no such thing as a baby food shortage. Everyone can get vegetables and everyone has a blender or at least access to one , that is all baby food is. As far as milk? Mother's Milk is the best there is

Not food …. Formula a little different…
skallagrime and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Formula is a attempt at recreating mothers milk . It works , but mothers milk is best. I frankly think it is not at all smart for a mother to not breast feed. Unless she may be one of the few who cannot. (very few) and it is all the food aka formula a baby needs up to about six or so months. Why a mother would not give her child the best she can , and spend money to give her baby formula is not as good as what the mother has naturally ? It is easy to say, i bet any amount of money THE MEDIA has something to do with it. As easy as they are controlling us in almost everything we do.

Mother's milk is definitely not automatically the best. Not in every case. My wife was an MD with a practice in pediatrics. Her opinion on breast feeding was that a large percentage of mothers didn't have the body chemistry to produce nourishing milk. She was all in favor of breast feeding if the mother's milk would allow the child to flourish. If the milk, for whatever reason, wasn't healthy for the child she advised using formula.JoeyJunk, Boondock, Northern Nomad and 5 others Thank this.

Some mothers can’t supply enough milk for the baby and therefore have to supplement with formula. It’s not as simple as just saying just keep breastfeeding.

This right here, assuming my mother followed the 100% mothers breastmilk suggestion, 5 of my siblings and i would have been malnourished at best as infants, my twin sisters would almost assuredly have died.
(You can say, oh just use a goat/wetnurse, which is the way they do it in poorer countries/did in the past, but goats are difficult to come by in cities and wetnurses ironically today might be easier to find in the us today than in the 80s)Boondock and BoostedTeg Thank this. -
I would see what wet nurses charge. I mean is there a gauge? Baby gets weighed before and after? Weekly or monthly subscription? Honestly Just curious.The_vett Thanks this.

I am curious too, my inclination is that the greater social media communication aspect should make them easier to find than in the 80s, not that a wetnurse app exists, just that its a possibility now...The_vett Thanks this.
