I have succesfully cut in line.
Usually after I converse with the other drivers first, and show them that I only have x number of items to come off or go on.

Only once have I had the shipper have to ask a driver to move for me.
He was just a *&^% for the sake of being a crumb bum. Plus his load wasn't even ready yet and he refused to move, until the shipper made him.

I never cut unless the other driver offer. Fedex, ups, box truck I usually wave them on. Sometimes coke or Pepsi drivers who has 1 stack of pop to deliver and I have 20. The faster they get outta my way the better

I want to clarify: I was a dcs driver for the c and a account and we were told we could tell a vendor to get lost if we got to the store because we were 'priority' freight. But I never would say to a guy to get out. It's stupid IMO.

myself, for the most part i get $85.00 per hour detention pay. i never knew about JB Hunt has priority, (wasnt looking). I will note my claims for detention pay has increased these past few years. Last week, i was paid $350.00 in detention pay alone.

    I try not to.
But the couple times I did it was an OTR driver.
I don't worry about other LTL drivers they have too many other stops left to take too much time at any one single stop,

I just had a guy tell me i had to pull out of a dock because he had "priority" last friday.. He was kind of rude about it but I explained that I only had 2 pallets left so it would be faster for him if I just pulled the pallets off, pulled my truck out of the dock, then came back in and finished up with the receiver.. He begrudginly agreed to this… Don't you know that after I pulled out of the dock, finished all my paperwork and headed back out to my truck, this guy was sitting in his truck, in the only open dock, eating!!

Working local, go into this plant with a 53 foot trailer, the plant has about 6 docks they load out of, one was open. I pulled around to "jack the trailer in", here comes a UPS parcel truck and whipped right into the hole that I was getting into. I didn't say a word, the UPS man got out and went inside, I just politely back up in front of his little van. 15 minutes went by, here he comes, "hey Overnite, you need to move so I can get out", my reply, "you cut me off, you were in there 15 minutes, now you are going to sit another 15 minutes." Oh, he started yelling and hollering, didn't do him any good.
