I run reefer, an have for a long time. I agree with you completely. The wait time is extremely frustrating. Generally reefer pays more, and you have to include some detention in your rate when your negotiating your rate.

Wegmans in Rochester is quick. I'm usually in and out 2 hours. It's all 1 product I have don't how long a mixed load would take

A full day and evening of pick ups then Leaving the boarder, vedgies inside, 150 miles out clock in, long frame, 75 mph, 100 lights brightening the night and giving other produce haulers a nod with your lights as you pass on, Reefer humming the $$…
Not for all, but for some

5.25 a gallon and 75mph? You can have it. And the noise of that #### reefer, too.

And why on earth does a reefer set to 32 degrees have to run all night long when the outside temp is 25?

Because If I’m putting my pants on to go to work you can make god #### sure it pays enough to run the speed limit where ever I go.

And the whole point of a reefer is to maintain temp….

“You can have it”,-that’s why I don’t complain about my rates. I value your opinion more than anyone else. I want it all :)

I agree no one should do reefer.

I switched from dry van over to reefer about 6 years ago and don't think I will ever do anything else. I must be half crazy because I actually enjoy it and yeah there's some BS but it's not always like that. I find the money to be consistently much better than dry freight and worth any hassle.

I love the fact that just about anywhere on my lanes, and I imagine the whole country is like this, that I can do repeat loads over and over and over. Not really dedicated but kind of. I never really cared for a strict dedicated runs anyway. The same #### for a whole year would be a bore.

Sometimes one broker will lose the lane and another one gets it. If the money doesn't work there's always other options so ditch it and do something else. I tend to load out of the same places around my home 20 and know exactly what to expect. I think reefer is awesome but I read and was influenced by a lot of whiney posts about the subject on here over the years before I ever hooked to one. I actually wish I had started pulling reefers 20 years ago.
