I'm not sure what you mean. Both of my mirrors are intact. Are you talking about the hood mounted mirrors? My truck did not come with them.

I never did understand drilling holes in a perfectly good hood for flipping mirrors. Just means you have keep situational awareness and keep your head on a swivel.

This past week was a bit of a funny week for me. I delivered a load in Newark, NJ and deadheaded over to farmingdale, NJ to pick up a load going to Lewisville, TX. Dispatcher told me it was 2 pickups, but they're both at the same place and they will probably load it all on the same dock. When I got there to pick up the load, I told them this. 2 pickups at the same address. They said it was combined into one load. I said alright and backed into a door. They loaded up 2 pallets and said that's it. I confirmed that's what the BOL said - 11 pieces on 2 pallets, 2400LB. Weird but whatever, I like the fuel mileage. I got to white pine, TN and the dispatcher called me asking if I had 2 BOLs or just one. I said nope, they combined it into one. He told me the customer still has 17 pallets that I didn't pick up. I told him that's on them, I informed them that I had 2 pickups and this is what they gave me. He said he'd call me back. A few minutes later he calls me back and says to turn around and they will pay me for all the miles from farmingdale to white pine, back to farmingdale, then to Lewisville. I just got my settlement email and he wasn't lying. I'm getting 2774 loaded miles and 45 empty on tomorrow's settlement and it's all that one load. I'm not complaining. That will net me about $3300.

That's actually a very difficult question to answer. I know for us, it varies by brand, location and day. One day, a fuel stop will be $0.60+ discount, the next it could be $0.20... If shopping around right now and heading from southern Minnesota and Denton, TX, the discounts along the way vary from nothing to $0.988 and the cheapest stops along the way cost us $3.311 ($0.988 off), $3.320 ($0.79 off), and $3.320 ($0.739 off). I'm sure its similar for most mid-sized fleets out there. A good question is if there is an app available for their fuel card that allows for price-shopping after discounts along the route, like WEX Card Control (that's what I am looking at on my phone right now to quote prices). If so, you can always find the cheapest fuel along the way, whether or not its discounted. Last week I pulled up a route to KC from here, and the cheapest fuel was at a small truck stop giving no discount whatsoever, their retail price was just that cheap.

Has your company ever considered using a fuel broker? You could buy your fuel in multi-gallon lots, usually a 500,000 minimum, distributed through one or two retailers or your own terminals, and used within a certain period of time. The price is generally fixed for that period of time if you're a serious buyer and use your allotment. The shorter the time period the less you'll pay. Do that a couple of times and fuel brokers will be calling you.
I know you're just a low level management type but if your boss listens to you at all he might like to have a bulk fuel option.

Unfortunately there's no way of knowing what the discount is on an app or anything like that. You just have to fuel where the cheapest pump price is and then on your pay stub you'll see how much of a discount you get. I'm not gonna lie, it seems shady like maybe they're pocketing some of your fuel discount, but I don't worry about it too much because I'm happy with my net pay after fuel either way.
