You know what the "JB" stands for Just Bull _ _ _t Hunt. I hate that company with every bit of trucking fiber I have. They consistently screw their drivers and are one of the principal players in keeping freight low and having the O/O's struggling. Let em burn!

The only drivers that ever have anything good to say about these bottom feeders are the one that got fired because they deserved it.
If they advertise for drivers, they suck.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
Ever consider they advertise because they are the ones that have the most freight and the most growth?
And no, high hiring rates doesn't automatically equal high turnover rates so don't even start.... -
JB Hunt has 10,400 drivers as per Safestat. That's the same number, give or take a thousand, that they have had for a decade.
It's because of high turnover. Sorry man. -
They are phasing out OTR so the drivers that want otr are going elsewhere.
There are much faster growing segments like intermodal. Where I work we have gone from 40 drivers to around 170. That is just one location and there are many of the drivers here that have been here between 5 and 15 years. I do know there is some turnover but I think that is due to the fact it takes a much higher level of skill to work at this location than the average driver is equipped with, so they are stressed out and can't handle the challenge of working in tight spots at the railyard. We have so much freight that we subcontract a great deal of it to third party companies. I talked with one RBK driver who told me all their drivers pull nothing but JB containers all day every day in this area. RBK is one of many trucking companies pulling our freight out of this railyard. The fact that we have more rail freight than anyone is indisputable.
Oh and by the way I'm pretty certain that number quoted is pretty far off. Employees are in the ballpark of 15500-16000. I would think drivers would likely make up at least 13500 of those.Last edited: May 30, 2011
