Yes this was an intermodal trailer which I have never pulled before. I set the 5th wheel all the way back because the trailer seemed so far forward compared to a van.
Yes the DM is a relative rookie, but I was looking at my available hours and the route that I would be taking would include several hundred miles in California at 55 which would have really been touch and go if I could make it without running out of time like 50 miles away lol (that's why I didn't argue about it). So sometimes stuff like this happens and it actually turns out to be good. 1700 miles with 34.5 hours available, hmmm pretty close....

Okay. Now it makes sense. I couldn't see the pic. Intermodals cannot be hauled outside a specific radius from the originating or destination rail yard. You would have caught a lot of grief from CHP over that one.
Texas-Nana and scottied67 Thank this. -

If you are pulling a Schneider trailer do you have to drive slower?

I was kinda wondering why just last week I saw a Werner with a Swift trailer behind it, and Injun answered it for me.

during hurricane releif i pulled a few werner trailers and one jb trailer and it was always a round trip so that worked out for me.... but never had that happen any other time

Hey Scottied,
You say you've never pulled an intermodal (can) before? If you ever have to, make sure those locks (frame to can, 1 each corner) are locked. Otherwise, you may have a very bad day......
I worked Imod for 2 months up here. At least 1 load per night, the locks weren't engaged when I hooked up.scottied67 Thanks this.
