Uh huh. And if your aunt was plumbed differently, she'd be your uncle.
Knight is what it is. A bottom feeder company that will suck you dry if you allow it to. I worked out of the Denver terminal. Had a dispatcher that I really liked and got along well with.
Unfortunately though, when you work for Knight, if you are away from your home terminal, (which is most of the time, it IS trucking after all,) you are at the mercy of the folks in the terminal where you are. And doing those city drops at OTR pay sucks. So does looking for an empty trailer at NO pay.
Now I left Knight back in 2004. But from everything I have heard, both on this board, and in person from other drivers, they have only gotten worse as time goes on.
just left knight

The trick to running with Knight was to always get a restart when you got back into your home terminal region, even if you had to restart 200 miles from home in a motel. Ask for freight going West (ID, UT, WA, etc) then run your ### off until you burn up your 70 (probably around soCal or Phx), you'll probably see an opening for a restart, DO THE RESTART don't let them jack you around with intra-soCal or PHX fr8 trying to "keep you busy", and hope your dm can can manage a load of cereal at Calexico for you going to Allentown or anywhere other than SE.
The other key, is when in home terminal (assuming your not in Charlotte or FL), is be sick as long as all they have is freight going to the SE. If you ever get thrown in with the flood of empty drivers in NC or GA, you're most likely screwed for the next 5 days.
Also, you need to get your haz mat and you HAVE to make sure they put this in the system and are reminded when you get near these shippers. Much of the hazmat they do haul has great miles in excess of 1800 miles.Fiddle Sticks and tirednaz Thank this. -

All they do is tell you "were working on it" and then they go home for the day. I love these guys that think they have a strategy for beating Knights system.
shadowdaddy and RizenPhoenix Thank this. -
PSA - The preceding post in no way codons or advocates the use of violence against any property or person associated with Knight transportation or any of it's bloodsucking divisions.
That being said it might not be right, but I'm surprise it hasn't happen yet.

Maybe it has? I haven't seen any of the Knight defenders around in a bit. Maybe they found out the hard way? Maybe they did get beaten over the head with something?
shadowdaddy Thanks this. -
Sounds like he made it work so why do you and a half dozen others who where not successful at Knight troll around here hating on people who do not agree with your pity party?
Not everyone can be a knight. And you can still find dignity and respect for yourself even at billy bobs stump hauling. You just need to dry the tears and man up and move on. I mean how long ago did they kick you to the curb? By now you should of recovered and brushed yourself off.
Now bash away at Knight but stop lashing out at people that had nothing to do with your sorting out at Knight.
