I passed the phone interview with flying colors. I was told I will be contacted about doing a road test in the next week or so. This will be at the hope mills location. Can anyone tell me what type of schedules they run here. I currently work for an LTL carrier running line haul Monday night thru Friday night. I am home everyday. Been doing this almost 15 yrs. I am very nervous about jumping ship. Any info and help would be appreciated. Btw my driving record is spotless

I came to Walmart from FedEx Freight and I was nervous too.

About schedules, you'll start as extra board, but it's not like LTL extra board where you sit at home waiting for them to call you in. Extra here means you don't have an assigned truck or set run. There is 5 on 2 off, your basic 5 day work week. There's 6/3 where you work 6 days to run out your 70 hour clock then you're home for 3 days. Also, 5/2-5/3 work 5, off 2 then work 5 and off 3, 5 on 5 off, and a few others.

Do that 5/2 5/3 when you come onboard, you'll feel like you have more time at home than you did being home daily in LTL. Just be forewarned cameras are on the way and will be pointed at you if you're not use to that.

Unlike linehaul, your starting pay will be much lower per mile so you'll have to rely on activity work and layovers to bump into the 60cpm+ avg.

    Hotrod81 and slim6596 Thank this.
