The worst they can do is put down you quit under dispatch which is different than abandonment. I was once threatened by a dispatcher 27 years ago, a year later I ran into him bagging groceries at the supermarket.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If DH already agreed to hire you, they have likely already checked your DAC and whatever else they wanted to check. And they will have it on file. If any questions are raised, just be honest. Now if DH don't work out, and Werner flames your DAC, you may have an issue later.

Right now they estimate a nation wide shortage of between 35K to 45K qualified drivers according to The Trucker. Take care of your driving record. Where ever you go try and tough it out for at least six months and you will find your way. You returned the truck to the terminal, there's not much they can really do to you. I run hard, make all bonuses and take plenty of home time. Every month at least 4-5 days. Taking home over $1k a week. -
Here is a snapshot of my year to date I think middle of may is when I pulled this for someone calling ######## on what I make.
19 weeks into the year and grossed over 25k. Taking home well over a grand a week after 401k and medical etc.
