It's just another illegal speed trap with cops trying to even up on the doughnut and gas bills.

Kind of related but not really... I am so excited I had to share. On the PA turnpike today I was cruising along listening to ZZ Top not realizing the speed limit had dropped to 65 and was still cruising along at 72 or so. Looked in the rear view and saw I made the blue lights flash. As soon as I saw him I backed it down looking for a spot to pull over. Trooper must have been having a good day. He flicked his lights off and waved on the way by. Thanks Trooper be safe!!

I was at roughly 108 or so in a old 83 COE white freightliner wound out towards what I recall as binghampton from albany. Working a slight ridge and curve and lo and behold there was a chevy police undercover with his radar hanging off the aft window door.

It took less time to pass and shake his car but good than it is to write all this out. The total time of seeing him, probably causing his radar if on to screech at him and me gone probably round 15 seconds on that spot.

I don't know why he never ran me down that day. Shrugs. But we were making some time after losing some in Albany unloading food earlier that morning.

They use seized drug cars, captured like enemy trophies and used for undercover work.

The gas companys constantly donate this car or that truck to our Police as gifts and we learn em fast, but they have been using very carefully picked captured seized cars for under quiet work in our area. Very effective.

Hell I used to process police vehicles and ex type stuff in auctions and know what to look for etc but sometimes things and technology stays a step ahead.

Maryland liked to use a farm tractor on the shoulder. Nothing to think or look at twice, only the gun is fired from the wheel and inside under fender well. No one looks there.

I edit this to remind everyone, I had a dangerous encounter on 83 south of york PA at summit itself one day running 55. Green mustang type car swung across my front slammed to shoulder bounced out door shouldering a LAW (LIght anti tank) weapon in a few moments. I had a depot load on the box back there and made small changes in the steering to take. him. out.

There was a cord running into the car's doorway to the bottom of the tube aimed at me. RADAR!!!! portable. I had missed him by this much and spent about a mile settling her down a mite expecting at this point a full press push because theoratically I tried to take out a lawman... Nothing at all happened.

I think to see that we both understood one another. I run that hill many times since and no one has ever tried that again for years...
