Probably more like we chose to retract our original post in order to continue our employment at KL Harring...

Like all trucking jobs there are pluses and minuses. Pluses of KL Harring are good pay 62 to 71 cents per mile. The bonuses are easy to hit. Guaranteed minimum of $1500. per week if you work the whole 2 week pay period. Incentive pay, mileage and safety bonus are in addition to minimum. Health in insurance is less than $50 per week. Very generous flexible hometime can work 3 weeks and take a week off or can work more, its up to you. You are usually off 1 to 2 days per weekend but you do have to take those days off in PA. If you live local you can go home others have campers at a local campground, others choose to explore the area such as NYC, Philly, DC etc. You get to know your fellow drivers who are some of the best people you will ever meet. Dispatch and office people are top notch! As are the shop and warehouse staff.
The down side is yes you do have to follow certain routes and stop at certain stops but that's the way it is when you carry high dollar freight. You can also hit two docks a day and occasionally you spend some time there. But hey you are getting paid $1500 each to work an average of 5 and a half days a week so sign up for Netflix or make sure you have a good supply of books. Use to have to make a lof of phone calls but now with peoplenet the phone calls are minimal. Overall it is easy money and all but a couple people are great people to work with. All the top paying jobs come with more rules and regulations than the lower paying jobs. So essentially you have to decide whether you want more rules and drive less miles or less rules and drive more miles.

Good grief! First of all, don’t listen to posters who don’t even know how to spell correctly! KLH is an excellent company to work for if you like to make money and still have a life. We are paid .70 per mile. We average 4000-5000 miles per week. If you don’t make those miles you are paid $3200 a week per truck. Multiply 3200 x 52= $166,400. Now obviously you don’t want to work every week of the year (except for you super truckers) just subtract how many weeks you think you would want off and you get an approximation. Simple math. We get paid weekly. Have holiday and birthday pay, fuel and safety bonuses. Most weekends get a reset, time to wash your clothes and get groceries restocked for the week.
