046 carb with a 038 boot. Muffler modded and the jug is ported.

I also made it look factory as much as possible.

    Turns 17,200 rpms free spinning.

I put one on a Silverado of mine. I live on a dusty gravel/dirt road. I followed their directions. I started seeing very fine dust gathering inside the intake hose.

I went back to paper filters after that.

I cringe when I see guys running them on their diesel pickups and live on a dirt road like I do.
I know when the trucks listed for sale "12k I know what I have"
    Yeah a sandblasted motor.

You have to maintain the K&N filter regularly to prevent particles passing through. . Cheaper than using disposable filters. I use K&N filters in my personal vehicles for decades, no issues.

These filters suck for every day use but for performance use say on a week end cruise or track use, they are good.

OK - Rolled in to my mechanic today - older Pete outside.

Had a convo with Jeff - what's up with that one?

JEFF - "OH - Back order of 700 units on the air filter"

NOW - How useful is a self-serviceable air filter?

I used a plate with a hole cut in the shape of the outlet of an air pig that airs up tires.

press down on the filter and release the air.

Filter is cleaner and I’m covered in dust.

Terrible idea for engine longevity.Performance filters like K&N,S&B,etc flow more air but at the cost of filtering less particles.I used to be into performance diesel pickups and frequented many forums and people tested the theories of better performance with those type of filters, paper filters, and also with the filters completely off.The performance results did not make a difference on anything under 600hp.Other tests where done in machines that would have debris flying and suction on the filter to see how many particles got through the performance filters and the paper ones. The performance filters let a lot of debris through.
