Kids meet 'Trucker Buddy'

More than 120 Kenwood Elementary School students had a chance this week to meet their official "Trucker Buddy."
And each had a chance to sit behind the wheel of their buddy Donald Nehring's rig and to blast the horn.
Nine-year-old Grace Gerlach-Brown called the experience "fun," and classmate Morgan Landrum classified the moment as "awesome."
Trucker Buddy International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping educate and mentor schoolchildren. For 16 years, the organization has promoted a pen pal relationship between professional truck drivers and students in grades 2-8.
"This is exciting. It's unusual, not something you get to do every day," said Cameron Moser, 10, who last week wanted to become a race car driver, but after a glimpse of the FedEx NASCAR No. 11 race car on display decided, "Now I want to be the guy who designs cars."
