You should contact recruiting. KIVI is involved in alot of different freight. There is a logging division that runs up in northern MN area. There are local/regional open deck drivers in Blaine and the Duluth terminal. If regular hometime is important to you, your home location should have something for you.

Also keep in mind that a number of drivers park their personal vehicles at the Duluth terminal and commute locally - your in a good location depending on which division you’re interested in running for.

So, how's the open deck life going on here? Haven't heard much over here in a while

I moved on a few months ago. The Kivi version of basic arithmetic didn't jive with my version.
I had a good run there, ran hard for them, just no future upward growth. Too much deadhead and no transparency on the ratecon to the driver.

Thanks for checking in, I need to update my tech so I can be more like you on posting lol.

For me things have been going pretty well, I’ve been focusing on more regional work so I can be home more of late, but I still hit the odd $7K (to the truck) week every now and then.

Most of our customer freight has been up and pays decent, we have a few lower paying accounts, but overall after 3 years here the pay is working out. Some of the broker freight has paid very well and there are more LTL opportunities now with things opening up.

Very much looking forward to next fall when the new KY yard will be open, hopefully later this summer we will at least be able to drop trailers because our existing yard is just to small. We have lots of new DM’s as we grow and I’ve been lucky to have the same one which probably helps me like working here more than others. I also like to be left alone and I get that which works well for me.

Hope your gig is still going well, I’ll have to drop in and read the recent updates :)

    Lonesome and supersnackbar Thank this.

Sorry it didn’t work out for you, I do hear not all DM’s operate the same which is a bummer. I hope whatever you’re doing now is enjoyable, stay safe and happy trucking!

I see on their FB page that they are hauling some pretty well paying freight. Sounds like there is some room to make some great money

The rates are definitely up this summer, the drivers who stay out to run all the time are making a killing, and those of us who like to come home aren't complaining either.
