Knight Is In Deep Doo Doo!

Knight should just step down and hand over all the freight they hi-jacked from some good down to earth carriers that WILL NOT, DO NOT HAVE NOT AND WILL NEVER step all over the drivers just to satisfy some crap bag company that demands some UNREALISTIC results by ripping off the drivers pay, giving the drivers defective equipment and cutting back on replacement parts(using used parts) stealing the reimbursement pay-out of packet scales tickets, relocation of trailers(taking up to 6 hours at no pa Iy) not getting paid for dead head miles, hi jacking my breakdown pay, no detention pay and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I had an incident like one of these they "said" I got paid for it, but was NEVER ON MY CHECK. God has knight trans in for questioning right about now, and the devil is having a day in his playpen at the knight corp office! To those who's faith governs your life, heathe these words and abort knight!

 

I just started at knight after leaving werner. I was at werener for close to 6 months and now just got hired at knight. They seem to be pretty cool.

 

Welcome to the honeymoon phase. It lasts about 90 days, stock up on vasoline, you'll need it.

 

They seem to be better than Werner. What I don't understand is how they tell me to run a load, then, drop my current load, and go p/u a beverage load that's was scheduled for delivery yesterday? When I show up to the receiver they make me wait 24 hrs to deliver. If I had a load already, then, why take me off of it and give me a late one? Is this how they ussually do it?

 

If they are good to you then that's all that matters. Be careful of what people tell you on this forum, most of it is based on opinion not fact. Keep an open mind and make your own decisions.

 

Yes that is how they do it. Many times your going to deliver and then wait 8 hours for a load that was supposed to have picked up 6 hours ago. Nobody cares about anything at Knight and it shows.

Did you read this thread from the beginning? Says a lot about the "debt free" idiots that are "forgetting" to reimburse you for scales and not paying you your accesory pay.

 

Actually, im still getting the hang of things. So far, it's been kind of a hurry up and don't wait type of deal. I asked my dm about all the trailer drops I did the other day and he said "don't worry, i'll take care of it". But I can't really seem to get a good foothold or streight answer from my dm regarding all the misc pay...don't want to be negative but, does'nt this all take away from running actual miles? I think I averaged about 1500 miles this week.

 

Yea they will always say you will be paid nut most of the time you won't be. Keep notes and scrutinize your pay religiously. Knights just not a company built on driver retention. Get em in for 90 days based on accessory pay lies and then replace them in a few months with the next guy.

I'm telling you right now...NEVER do a "favor" for anyone at Knight. You will get screwed EVERY time. Just say no.

 

They are not deliberately trying to screw you. They just seem to do it without trying. They are so #### big and so disorganized that their right hand does not know what their left hand is doing.

This from a student who has probably never had anything to do with Knight. Of course those of us who have worked for them don't know anything, or are just bitter. Right.

FWIW, I have worked for worse companies than Knight. And I have worked for better companies than Knight. If you are going to work for them, resign yourself to being screwed over a lot. It is going to happen. It just depends on how much you are willing to put up with.

For me, when somebody is messing with my paycheck, that is it. Goodbye, I do not work for free.

 

Just dont take it 'personally," cause it's NOT you, it's them....
