Not to mention the Qualcomm Data deleted and the Knight Driver's Daily log Falsified to hide his tracks. The Dot should Revoke Knight's permits and Authority and the KHP should arrest and charge the Driver with Leaving the scene of an accident and vehicular man-slaughter.
Given that the Knight driver (Muthee) has been criminally charged and doesn't have the resources of Knight, I would expect he wouldn't be terribly hard to squeeze in order to build the crminal case against Knight.
That was a graphic and horrifying chain of events. I find Knights behavior just as disturbing as the description of the scene. How the hell could a driver leave like that? He pulled over stopped for a second and left. Months later he said he could not find a safe place to pull over??? How about right on top of the torso you ended up scattering between Kansas and the So Cal Home Depot store you ditched your truck at?
I'm afraid not there, Daniel Webster. The burden of proof refers to who has to come up with it and has nothing to do with how good or bad the evidence might be.
Do any of you who are following this drive for Knight? If so: On a scale of 1 - 5, 1 being "Happens all the time" and 5 being "absolutely no way" . . If you rolled into that vendor tomorrow and asked to have your steers replaced, is it going to happen without a pre-approval from Knight?
This is another example about BIG COMPANY! I'm personally glad that truth is coming out. Hopefully from now on drivers will think twice before going to BIG Companies!!!!
You're confusing "big companies" with "unscrupulous companies." The later variety come in all sizes...
Don't have to drive for Knight to answer that one...... HELL NO ! not a company terminal or a vendor will do anything to your truck without authorization. It's a good way to not get paid! Someone ok'ed those Knight tires and someone tinkered with the q.c.
My point, exactly. You have to admit that it is conceivable for a shrewd, manipulative, desperate driver to get the tires . . with the right combination of lazy, inept, impatient tire clerk, and a reasonable expectation that Knight will pay . . shi()t happens . . but I agree with you; it just isn't very likely. Add to that the QC . . I can't even imagine it! The head of IT goes in front of a judge and shrugs his shoulders when asked to explain the disparity between screen shot messages and gobbledygook? Did you see the mention of the cell phone in the footnotes? It was in one of the pics the X KHP guy took . . with no back and no SIM card? It never came up in the hearing but that phone appeared and then disappeared after the truck was back in Knight's possession and Muthee was long gone!
