They do, every hour of every day, someone is quitting Knight and others are scheduling orientation at one of Knights 28 terminals.

So what your saying is they are the exact same as any other trucking company. Thanks for the insite.
-
Well I sure am happy that they fixed the DRIVER PORTAL and added a nacho button.
-
You think every trucking company is a training company with pay that reflects 1990's wages? No sir, thank YOU for the insite.
-
Your pervious post was about turn over. Knight has the same problem with turn over as any other trucking company. As for the pay its not changed much in 30 years across the board. Thats a indrustry problem in general.
p.s.
Jim, I second the nacho button! Make the fooker standard. -
Ummmm.. Nope. There is plenty of trucking companies that have zero payroll issues and a long line of people who want to work for them.
Why?
Because they pay more. They take care of their drivers. Companies all over the country are doing this. The only difference is they don't get the majority of their drivers from craigslist.
They don't hire fresh out of school. They don't do a lot of things the big companies do. And from what I'm hearing is there is another class action suit forming. -
Some of them prefer to work for 1990's(or earlier) wages it seems like, just give them more miles to run per week and they'll work for even less. Probably the same type that complain about illegals yet are the same ones happy and willing to work for illegal immigrant wages hahahaDna Mach Thanks this.

Thank you again, just like the last guy quoting my post (for pay) that was originally about turnover. =)
Your not going to get the same pay out of a mega that you would out of a mom and pop or a specialized carrier like (Associated Foods) a mega is a good place to start out get some experience and move on if you live in a area that supports that. Pay among bigger carriers and even some mom and pops have been stagnated for years. (Example, D&D Trans out of Gooding, ID. used to start drivers at 29cpm with 2 years exp) The problem with pay is industry wide. Why you may get lucky and get on to one that pays its drivers decent, those normally have a nice long line of drivers waiting to get in as they tend to be on the rare side of things. The problem is there are WAY to many drivers that will accept .29 cpm for the industry to ever change as a whole.Leftnut Thanks this. -
They are most definitely not happy and willing to work for illegal immigrant wages.
Problem is, they don't have much choice, as the choices are dwindling.
Think it's mere coincidence that the fact that so many illegal immigrants do work for low wages, and that the wages are shrinking proportionately?
And just a wild guess here but; could it possibly be that all the large mega trucking companies are the driving force behind the enactment of the cross border program?
After all; there are untold millions and millions of warm bodies 'down there' that would do anything for 20 cents a mile.
It's all just a matter of time; just gotta work out all those pesky 'bugs' with the insurance companies (that and the fact that America's senators drive the same roads as those proposed illegals).Leftnut Thanks this.
