How about all that $$$ they spent on the Qualcomm trailer tracs gps to track the trailers and yet they never had them working...

That shows incompetentance of these people.

Problem is when I was at Knight I always stood my ground when I felt like I was taking it in the rear. For that I was told by the Driver Development manager that I wasn't a very good driver because I was "difficult to work with" and that if he would have had his say I wouldn't have been offered rehired. He as much as said that that was his reasoning for not agreeing to seat my wife with me after she was done with a trainer because that don't put inexperienced drivers with difficult to work with drivers still on probation. It's my belief that he's trying to make coming to Knight such a PITA for us that we leave before we start so we will leave. Guess what, he very well may get his wish. Knight's loss will be Bulldog Freightway's gain.

Texas has a lot of freight, but it stays in Texas. Same with Montana. When I go to either state no matter the company I drove for I'm guaranteed to stay there for at least a week. And Knight has 3 terminals in Texas and I've been to them all in a week's time. I prefer to stay in the west coast from Calexico California to Vancouver Canada. I live in San Jose, there's always freight going through there. Places like Dallas you're more likely to see freight leaving from there in all directions, not to there. Example, I drove from Vancouver to Washington to Laredo, Corpus Christi, Garland, Dallas, Houston, El Paso, Dallas, Hawkins, San Antonio, Creedmoor, and finally to Snowflake Arizona. I bounced around Texas for an entire week but at least I got 3k miles bouncing around. When I worked for conway I dubbed the state the Texas triangle because every time I went there I was stuck there for a month and I was always sitting.

I live 200 miles from Tulare and I will take my truck home with me. It's safe, and nobody hassles me.

good grief.... someone stole a trailer from the formerly unsecured Stockton dropyard a month ago and there was no GPS to find it. And it was a high dollar load. They now require a code to enter the yard. Then again a few weeks back I reported a trailer dropped in Oakland Oregon next to the Adult toy store. A high value IKEA load. Needless to say they fired the person because he was 30 miles away and someone tampered with the lock and there was a kingpin lock on it too which they tried sawing off.. I was asked to stay with the trailer until they could get a day cab from Portland to pick it up and I was paid for my time sitting. I won't tell on drivers, but one thing you never do is drop a loaded trailer where it can be stolen.

    drvrtech77 Thanks this.

Dropping a loaded trl is bad enough but to drop a high value load..you're asking to be fired!!

I always make sure the landing gear is down before dropping a trailer, especially loaded ones! It's a lot easier to hook back up to them this way. :)
