Wow, wow.. slow down my friend. Especially with "idiots like you". Says a lot about your general attitude towards people that you don't know.
I do work for this company. And not in the air conditioned office but as a company driver.
Difference between you and me is that I am actually have degree and I am actually know this business from inside out. I used to have my own company, my own authority and everything else.
And unlike majority of crying public here I know where loads are originated and how hard is to book the load and most importantly - follow through. Especially if driver is a uneducated primitive human being that can not handle above average responsibilities that this kind of work is actually demanding.
Trucking, being a driver - is work for losers. Period.
And I am a loser. I failed to become a wealthy person despite all of my education and skills. So here I go. Driving a truck.
But let me ask you some questions about your "degree" in this industry if you don't mind.

Did you learn to drive a semi with 53' reefer attached in 3 days on empty Walmart parking lot like I did? Clutch only for the first gear to start moving, right? I did it after another "driver" just couldn't handle it anymore and vent nuts at the NM truck stop and I had to use New Mexico state police to get my truck back (with perishable load that was more than 24 hrs late for Hunt's Point , New York.

Did you learn all the study material to pass for CDL in 4 days like I did? Did I mention that it was in language that was not my native? So it takes little bit longer to comprehend everything.

Did you ever replaced starter for C-15 engine of Kenworth T-600 on the side of the road like I did? All by yourself and no shop equipment?

Did you ever delivered a load to Bronx produce market going under underpass that have clearance sign of 12'9" or something like that? Not to mention backing up to the door after 24-36 hrs of wait with about 4" between the trailers and no room in front of you? Who ever delivered there knows what I am talking about.

Did you ever been left at the Akron, Ohio factory plant with the load that needs 8" tarps (125 lb each) on Friday night and there is no forklift anymore to get them up 15 or more feet off the ground? I was.

Did you ever went for your first trip just after 7 days of actually sitting in the truck for the first time in your life and just 1 day after getting your CDL class A with no trainer or anyone to help you? I did. Trip was from Yuma to Boston and on second day in Virginia old trailer got into the fire and I had to deal with red glowing wheel drum all by myself. Thank God I had another fire extinguisher. My sailor's intuition told me to buy one more. Load was delivered intact and at the time of the appointment.

Did you ever dispatch 5 owners/operators and 3 of your own drivers running you own small company and working about 20hrs a day with no weekends whatsoever because phone just not stopping ringing? I did.

Do you have on your CDL every endorsement possible and do you have experience with anything else but easiest thing to haul - dry box/reefer?
    I do.

Did you work 8 months in following tempo to keep up with truck insurance, IFTA, truck payment and so on, and so on:
First day I got loaded in CA/Yuma/Nogales to Bronx/Boston. And I have to make 1100 miles that first 24 hrs. Next 24 hrs. I have to make another 1000 mi. and at the third day I can "relax" and do "just" 700-800mi to my appointment which if I miss - detention for at least 12 hrs but more likely 24hr or even 36 hrs with no idling or restroom after 8 P.M.
    Did you?
In those 8 months I had 3 days "off" for court with my previous driver. And 3 days off to move from one apartment to another.

Now read everything above one more time. Get it trough your head. And at least stop crying about your miserable experience with Knight.

I did all of the above. I put inhuman effort to survive. And I lost everything anyway. Along with more than $50K invested at the beginning.

    Now about Knight.

I enjoy to work for company that have new and high quality equipment. Because I am real professional unlike crying babies here.

I treat my Driver Manager with respect because I know his work and how hard it is. And yes - because I am real professional unlike crying babies here. Just standing next to his desk in a office for 15 minutes and watching him babysitting idiots that can't follow simple qualcomm and written on paperwork instructions told me a lot.

From day 1 I was treated with utmost respect from everyone at Knight.
Let me guess why... Oh - probably because I am real professional. Unlike bunch of crying babies here.

I do enjoy highly organized work environment at Knight, reminds me my days in Navy when you are part of big, well tuned up machine. I don't even know why.. Probably - you know... Because I am real professional.

All problems that you have are self-inflicted.
You are an amateur. Despite your 7 years of driving a truck. And you always will be an amateur. So - take care of yourself and good luck with finding something that you would like and you will become a real professional.

    Peace.

    tracyq144 and BigJDub Thank this.

Knight is a "big well tuned up machine?"

Where you from? Is that what the Commies taught you in Russia?

Right. Good. You did all that. And you even admitted you lost on the deal anyway. Thus making my point, yur a good little robot. That's what Knight wants and that's what you give em, thus why they treat you so well. So why should they actually plan things right and treat the drivers like human beings, cuz they got good little droids like you to come in and take the crap. How is anything you said negate my points whatsoever?

And how many times did you say how 'hard' it is? Sounds like 'whining' to me. Pot, meet kettle.

I never replaced a starter cuz I'm not a trained mechanic. Not everybody pops out knowing how to fix anything, which is another assumption they make. Cuz everybody with a Y chromosome is a born technician, right? We all fixed cars with our dads, right?

I don't care that you call me whiney, cuz know what, I had the GUTS to decide it wasn't for me, and I have a low tolerance for unprofessionalism (and they're NOT professional. You just dunno any better.) The idea is to make a living, not run their company for them. I have nothing whatsoever to prove, apparently you do. What it is, I can't rightly figure out. So far all you've proven is you like being crapped on. This is praiseworthy how?

Though, on brief thought, it doesn't surprise me since you come from a country that hasn't run right since they killed the Czar. So to you it's normal. I guess it comes down to context.

Cool! Because this week I ran from Texas to New Jeresy and right back in 4.5 days. 3200 miles and 2.5 days off at home, not some crappy Knight mudhole, before doing it again. I'm glad I left Knight and that OTR work to self admitted losers like you.

Really so you treat a dch-bag with respect? Yes I think you pretty much nailed that one yourself. So there you have it gang, treat the almighty Knight with respect and turn it into a career instead of a job with a crappy company.

Go away office troll OR start making yourself useful around here.

Shall we discuss your pile O Knight feces?

    OK, good.

    Shall we?

    Wait.

You didn't say anything ABOUT Knight at all! See how much you discuss your "Driver Manager"? That's rather odd, you discuss that a bit too much, because that's all you know. At least you didn't talk about Knight's "dis-service" centers. Because you don't know any of them. Other than the pearl of the company, that is. The place all drivers bypass if they can because they know if they stop there, they'll be stuck for a week for a oil change.

But let's talk about "well oiled machine" Since we have trucks, they need to be well oiled! What's the service standard for large truck engines in current use and what is the service that Knight gives them and how are they different than factory service?

What major change just happened to services?

What major change just happened to the trucks themselves in Knight's fleet?

What was the services mileage given three years ago to one year ago to today within Knight?

What are the major problems of the newer Volvos with D13 engines within the fleet.

What is the major issues with the Maxxforce engines within the fleet.

What are the current idle times?

Which terminal has the highest amount of profit per truck?

What is the lowest trailer number in current service?

What is the slowest shop in the company? The fastest?

Since you are a professional within Knight as no other, please tell us all.

Ha ha... Looks like I messed here with hornet nest.
Sorry guys, I could not answer - did not want to ruin my mood while in the truck. It was extended stay for 3 weeks.

    Now to satisfy your hunger.

Let me start with the person who actually "made" me post here.

You mentioned that you worked 2 weeks on and 1 week off. That's very generous schedule, my friend that you choose to make money in this industry. I understand that majority of people here have highest education of CDL school and their "knowledge" usually consist of collected over CB and in driver's lounge rumors and deep, almost Socrates -level philosophers with same level of education.
Especially I love when those people talking about other countries that they never been into, even as a tourist. Gues what - even tourist does not know jack #### about foreign country that he visited. To have any knowledge and accordinly more or less recognizable and acceptable opinion you have to pay your taxes and bills for at least 3 years. Than you can open your mouth to say something about Russia, Germany or U.S.A.
But it's OK. American truck driver knows everything about anything. That's why he/she working longer hours than any other profession and brings home pathetic paycheck as recognition of his/her effort.

Now let's go back to the trucking with Knight.
Knight runs e-logs. E-logs - it's a law. The way trucks and drivers suppose to run. European Drivers (not Russian) run like this since long time ago. Last time I check, like in 1994 - sealed recording device were installed in every big truck and you can't enter or pass any town or village in Germany after 10:00 P.M. Autobahn is OK. (Autobahn is a highway with no speed limit, originally built by Adolf Hitler - this explanation for most educated, most traveled and seeing the world American truck drivers).

So - if you would have little bit better education in mathematics, something like level of Russian high school (that equal associate degree here in US) you would apply you skills before even entering this kind of work. At the current 65 mi/hr speed limit of your truck at Knight theoretical maximum you can make a day is 715 miles. Lets calculate this unreal, absolute maximum possibility with your schedule. Out of 6 weeks you are working 4. That is 2/3 or about 66% of any given length of time. 66% of the week would be 4.62 days. Lets round it to 4.5 days. In 4.5 days of work with maximum use of 11 driving hrs you can make 3217 miles. Let's round again for simplicity to 3200 miles a week. Sounds already not bad consider how short your week is. 33 cent a mile would give you $1056 minus about $180 in taxes equal $876 paycheck.
Now let's go back to reality. In best case scenario you will drive about 10 hrs on max speed that would turn out to be 650 mi a day. Because some time will be stolen by hrs spent at loading docks and interruptions due lack of load, empty search, breakdowns and so on - I would write off hole day worth of diving per week. So we have now 3.5 days 650 miles each equal 2275 miles. Now we have very impressive real $750 - $130 in taxes = $620.
I bet you had even less in average. What's the point to be away from home and risk your life if you can make this kind of money working locally?
Subtract cost of eating at the truck stops, other necessities - and all over the sudden professional burger flipper at McDonalds makes more than you do LOL.
If you idle pass 10% - your paycheck shrunk to about $586
    Pass 20% - to about $550.
And it's all with next load pre-planned for you and load having at least 1 day long drive to destination (650 miles or more). If that does not work out (and in real world it WILL NOT) - chalk off even further reductions in earnings.
But human nature, natural laziness and lack of education made you jump into opportunity of "quick and easy" cash with no college degree needed and now you all upset, poor baby. Knight Transportation of course to blame., Not precious you.

Your life experience, education and over all broad horizons are popping out here as well. Well, no wonder...

In land of Czars - last if would be smart and ,again, educated enough, ruler woudn't bring empire into WWI, starvation and as a result - revolution carried out by dirty, hungry and God #### it uneducated crowd. Seems like education is a major factor LOL.
So in this land you don't have DOT, weight stations, FMCSA and famous phenomenon known around the world as "American Greed" of corporative world that Knight Transportation belongs to. No one in Russia would ever tell you how much to idle. That idea would never cross any official's mind - so stupid it would be considered. All you have in Russia - is road police and icy roads at winter time. If you working for someone else - you don't make enough money. Dah... Sounds like something new or what?:biggrin_25523:
To make money in Russia you have to own truck and trailer (reefer a must). And you have to have money or investors that would buy you a load of champagne in Moscow and you would deliver it at winter to Far East, closer to Alaska. And triple investment. You have to attach "Rommel" box to the back of your truck with at least 4 different spare tires, bunch of tools and jack so you can replace tire by yourself. You can load as much as fit in your trailer and you feel comfortable about your suspension and tires. It comes with experience. You running reefer unit that keeps vine from freezing. You pay some "road fees" to cops that are lucky enough to stop you. You pay some money to co-driver that you need in such a dangerous venture. But in 2-3 years you build nice house that is yours and no bank can take it from you. You wife is stays home full time and cooks wonderful meal that have no preservatives or corn syrup, using 1500 year old recipe with bread that is melting in your mouth, not that crap that "American Greed" sells you in local supermarkets that is tasteless like a paper.
You would naturally ask me what am I doing here if there is such a wonderful places on Earth. Well. If we would be really smart - we would not be driving a truck period.:biggrin_2559:
My son is US Marine and my daughter does not even speak Russian. I guess I am stuck in this sweat press for a while.

I am driving for Knight, playing poker for additional income and looking for other opportunities. Worst case scenario - I will go for owner-operator to buy the truck that I drove since brand new (so it was never abused) purchase decent reefer unit and ship it to Russian. My ex-wife is GM of big shipping company in NJ and I was smart enough not to burn all the bridges :biggrin_25519:. Or maybe I stay here forever - I don't know. In any way I do have a game plan. And people who don't - they got dissapointed and blame everything and everyone, but themselves.
    Nothing new.
