I would like share another story with you about a company that is not as family oriented and friend to its drivers. This company let me go by an email from a crazy person on the road.
This is how the story starts coming back on a run from Chicago, IL to Bloomington, MN. I don’t want to run into traffic at that time so cut across Wisconsin to Minnesota I went north on 52 to county road 41 to interstate 35 north I was heading for county road 1 Old Shakopee Road. As I was making my way onto interstate 35 north thinks were making good time until I arrived at highway 13 a vehicle came on to the interstate ahead of me and was going the speed limit which was 65 mph. Then the persons or person in the vehicle seen me in the back they started slowing down to 50 mph I moved over a lane to pass that vehicle the was slowing down but as I was passing her, I seen her flip me off and speed up not allowing me to pass her. So, I moved back into the right lane and then she started slowing down again. At this time, I wasn’t going to play games so I stayed behind her to my exit. She slowed down at times to 40 mph in front of me so I turned my high beams and used my air horn hoping for State Trooper would wonder what was going on my cell phone batter was died at that time or I would have called them myself. I got to my exit and then turn my single on and she followed off. I turn on my left single and turned as I did, I seen her flip me off again I got to were I was going and dropped my trailer. Then I headed to the yard to park my truck hoping that wouldn’t see that driver again.
One-week latter I was called into the office where we sat and talked about the incident on that run. I asked the safety officer were did he get the fax on it and he said she emailed the office with her side of the story. He started telling her side about how she fearing for life and that I was rude to her and that she called the Police to come to house that I was going to follow her there. This was funny to me we went right by the Bloomington Police Station and was lit up for all to see. The safety officer said that were going keep you on and not let you go.
So, I started anther week of driving and on my run, I received another message on the Cal-com to come into safety office. So, I finished the week, I went into the safety office and that were they let me go. I told them that was wrong of them to do that it was all her fault. At that time, I told them that I was always on time for pickup and delivery’s and your letting a good driver go. There reason was as follows:
1. Damage to the front bumper. I stated that due to the construction in our trailer yard they had all dug up and it was a mess. The damage was to lower air dam of the bumper and I said that I would fix it but no they said they would do it so I said ok.
2. Backing into a truck at the parking lot in a truck stop where he was in the handicap spot with out a handicap placard card or plate in the window or bumper and in the reserved parking area were, I had reserved a spot. Yes, I mite have hit his truck with the trailer didn’t show any damage and the only damage to his truck that I could see was a little scratch on his fender and couple lug nut covers on the ground. The police were called and gave him a citation for illegally parking in a handicap spot and documented all the damage. As far as they could see it was going to be about $100.00 dollars of damage to his truck. The other driver had to go to court and pay for the handicap fine.
3. Running over a fire hydrant in a an area without a curb. I was making a right turn at late evening and had moved over as far as I could to swing and mess the fire hydrant but no, I hit it and we ended up paying $1,500.00 dollars to fix.
In all of this I only had a $1,500.00 accident with a fire hydrant the other were minor and one was done by going into the company’s trailer yard under construction.
I am a driver that has driven for over 30+ years and this is the only accidents I have had. I have over 3-millon miles or plus under my wheels. I stated driving in the military in 1973 as a kid and kept it up over the years. I am a truck driver and I love it. I feel that they were wrong for letting go and that it placed a black spot on my driving history. It has been over a year I tried to call them see if they would take me back but they will not call me to let me know.
Thankyou for reading this letter I need to get out of head and move on and hope some can help fine me a good job.

Man......Koch did what they had to do. You got fired because your name is caught up in too many situations.....on to the next company. Do better.
bigblue19, Aamcotrans, Crude Truckin' and 3 others Thank this. -
What I don't understand and I seem to read somewhat regularly from people who have had what they feel is the short end of the stick shoved up their ### is why would you contact them wanting to go back, that makes no sense to me.
Besides, if you have over 3 million miles and the only things on you are the hydrant and the bumper, which both happened there, you should be taking that as a sign also.
Yes, I'm a superstitious idiot....4merlinn2, snowlauncher, loose_leafs and 1 other person Thank this. -

Seems to me you have about 20 times the bad luck that the rest of us have, or just don't want to own up to mistakes or your own road raging.
All , these Things aside from road raging which could be debatable, don't just "happen" to someone who has been driving since 1973. Either your eyesight or your sanity is starting to go, or both.
Why does someone with that much experience need to work for a Koch or Halvor lines? They are both well known for being not much better than Swift in this part of the country, though some people do ok at both outfits when minding their minding their Ps and Qs.
I'm sorry, it just seems so far from a coincidence that two different Midwest outfits fire you over an almost identical scenerio.bryan21384, Dale thompson, Crude Truckin' and 3 others Thank this. -
3 million miles, and driving for Koch and Halvor lines who are well established in that area, It should be second nature to you to know that hwy 13 and I35W is a heavy merge area.
Knowing the way Midwest 4 wheelers behave, you should be expecting them to be incompetent with merging and be prepared for that situation before it becomes a dangerous situation or confrontation.
What did you expect a long blast on your air horn or blinding them with your lights to solve? What was done was already done at that point.bryan21384, bzinger, jon69 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You make a lot of excuses for your poor decisions. What does the fact the someone was illegally parked in the handicap spot have to do with anything. Light damage or not, you still hit him. I would have fired you when you hit that hydrant. You seemed to have an excuse for that too.
sevenmph, bryan21384, Eggroll'n Trucker and 6 others Thank this.
