Back to $1.05/gal. Last week mpg 7.21, and for 13 weeks, 7.53, trip mpg. East coast and heavy loads. Did I read todays msg correct that we have to get our 1099 from the Kiosk or they are still mailing home.

1099, a reprint of todays msg compliments of the Swift Transportation Owner/Operator Facebook page.

Some of you may want to incorporate and change the way you are doing business for tax or legal purposes. Please keep in mind that when you do that, you will also need to have your operating authority contract identification information changed. This is called a DBA contract change. Please note that if you form a corporation (INC.) or a LLC type "C" or "S" under Federal tax laws, Swift
Transportation Co. LLC can no longer provide your with a 1099 for tax purposes. All other LLC's as well as sole owners and partnerships will continue to receive a 1099 after the first of February. 1099's will only be available on the kiosk after 2/15/2013.

I don't want to hijack this thread or anything or make anyone mad, but has anyone ever considered posting good places to buy fuel and others to avoid?

There are two I would rec'm, Caseys General Store diesel in MO, and Philips 66 in KS. Both were winterized and both gave me great mpg. Now tonight I fueled at a Pilot in OK, and after 100 mi my mpg's are already lowered. I really just checked out the price of fuel at Pilots, and didn't even consider trying to find a Philips 66 along the way. I really wish I had now, but its on the list for next time.

well just some thoughts to share, I hope no one really doesn't mind.

Exactly...I can always find a price of a major chain what i want to know is the price of the independants....and compare them to terminal fuel prices....but here is a good one to start.....quicktrip in missouri...always a good price Huck finns in Illinois and kentucky....and a place in danville Ill....colonial pantry(i think)...on I74...its a real dump...but fuel price is good

I have been finding that the Independents that are Ambest and Roady's are good. Stopped today at exit 98A on I-30 in AR, $3.71/gal and the Peelot, $3.85.

    Hello friends,

Upon reflection, I meant to use the word, "cheap", to describe a fuels quality, not its price.

Yes your all right, alot of the indies' have fuel at or below what the national chains are charging. Its funny, but TA's can't compete so they only list the cash price, how sad.

What started me thinking was yesterday I was at an 8.1 with a real real light load on flat mostly roads. This was at a speed of 61 mph, I had a four wheeler drafting off me, ( which I really can't stand), so I slowed my speed down to 57 ish. My mpg when up to an 8.7 after several hundred miles. Then I fueled at a peelot and only after 100 miles, its gone down 8.6. So I'll see today what today brings, maybe nothing I hope, we'll see.

I just hauled a 45,000 beer load from Van Nuys, CA to Phoenix. When I checked my mileage at the rest area on I-10 (just west of Banning) I was showing 6.7, better than I expected at that point. Next check (Chiriaco Summit/top of the climb) was 7.2, Blythe 8.0 and Phoenix 7.8. Since weather was not a factor I wasn't suprised at the slight drop from Blythe to Phoenix as you climb as bit leaving Blythe and my speed went up from 60 mph in CA to 65 in AZ.
