Quite a few leasing on over in the oil field here in Texas and Louisiana .
Company's tell them they got work. Well they do have some work hauling cheap pipe loads to billion dollar oil drillers.
Doing the loads their O/Os will not do. Prices are below what it cost's to operate.
After a few weeks they move on.
Quite a few selling or REPO man gets them.

Guys, they have over 9000 drivers and I think they lost 153.

    They'll be ok.

That looks like close to 3,000 less drivers -- but more importantly there is a continuous and continuing loss. Losing 15% of your volume is beyond a point where the remaining peons are going to have to carry an even larger part of the overhead. Might just make it worse.

    Rideandrepair and 77fib77 Thank this.

Not only are they losing drivers, but they are getting sloppy out there. I saw a guy last week with a load of 55 gallon drums of hazmat whose straps were flapping all over and V-boards were barely hanging on to some of the barrels. I also read that they are unable to get oversize permits in MO because they've been having drivers ignore their permits or not get them at all.

I get the LS magazine and each quarter it has pages and pages of ‘welcome new BCO’s’ - so they’re losing more than they’re leasing on.

8,266 is the lowest I’ve seen in 10 years. I imagine they’ll be more.

Siinman, Rideandrepair, cke and 6 others Thank this.

They had a 2 week suspension back in February, after talking to heavy haul last week, there’s been more out of routes and curfew violations in St Louis - so Ranger gets a 30 day suspension.

They told me they get to pick the start date and were looking at Thanksgiving time.

    Not good.
