Big Baby i drive for Landstar also but i drive for an owner. I've been booking all my loads since January and doing well. The owner knows i want to get my own truck and i've been shopping around. I was curious to know who you dealt with because i'd like to see if i could get a deal there. Thanks

I have read some of this post but has gotten long fast so I'll be brief. Does LS provide any business oriented services such as accounting or tax prep? If not will they forward my info to an accountant I hire?

The simple answer is no. They aren't going to get involved in your business.

They don't give or provide any equipment. You have to bring your own. However they don't have a minimum list, you can start out with as little as you want to. Of course you will miss some loads If you don't have enough equipment. They use to offer discounts if you purchased eq. From Tri City in the St Louis area, I assume they still do.

Keep in mind duddie, Jan and Feb are very slow in the flatbed world. So patience will be definitely required

You will go broke with Landstars (cut and paste) load boards. They get the vast majority loads from other load boards...take their cut...then pass it onto the driver like they actually have a shipper as a customer lol.

Some do have customers. Also....there is a ton of buddy hustling going on. Lots of favoritism.....and...some of the brokers have their own trucks and will ninja the choice loads and keep the high paying loads for themselves. In essence....there is a trucking company operating within a trucking company lol. Brokers in Landstar that have their own trucks LOL. You already know how its gonna turn out.

This is one reason I refused to go to Landstar. To many shady and corrupt practices.
