The Holy Grail ( LCN fee ) $3.69 a pop
Comdata direct deposit fee $1.00 a pop.
Transflo $2.00 a pop
Landstar put settlement on comdata card $1.75 a pop
Haven't taken a fuel advance in over 4 years, but they are $1.75 a pop.

I always thought it was the price of the printed invoice, check, envelope, & stamp deducted from the pay. I've done 2 loads 3 years apart and both had that $1.75 deducted. My next negotiation will be for $1.75 higher than what I really need.

It's what they charge to send the money. Covers the cost of depreciating the keyboard of the computer.RedForeman, blairandgretchen, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this. -

Funny you should mention CHR. They called me a couple weeks ago and we were on the same page with rate and accessorials but he said I wasn't set up with them. I offered to send him the rate con from the last load I pulled from them but I wasn't going to go through the setup process again. Not worth the hassle for the little amount of business they throw my way.RedForeman and Speed_Drums Thank this.

She called me last week at $4500 on 450 miles. Step extendable.
I’m busy.
Calls today - CHR approved $8500 on a truck DH out of FL.
Truck broke down.
Can you cover it?
I’m available Monday!
Don’t give a turd either way.
Point?
I ain’t too concerned about $1.75.

You're right. $1.75 is nothing but sometimes it's just the principal of the matter.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

Landstar did $4.13 billion last year, and apparently are concerned about it.
You may be single-handedly keeping them afloat with that deduction.
Come to think of it, I need to add $1.75 to each of my rates. I could have been a billionaire and been missing that all these years.Speed_Drums, blairandgretchen, Midwest Trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
What gets under my skin when I think about things like this too much is: they're doing it because they can, and know none of their carriers will be doing squat about it.Speed_Drums, Midwest Trucker, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this.

No doubt. I don't haul for them anymore but when I used to they would charge me to put money on my card. I think it was only like a dollar fifty or something but it always irked me. Using that card saved them time and money.
No postage. No unreliable USPS service issues. No material expenses for envelopes etc etc. Yet they had the audacity to charge me for their convenience. Back then I took the same stance as Blair but they're way too slimey these days for me to overlook it anymore.
I'm also the type of person who will bite their nose to spite my face. I'm quick to make a stand over something I believe in when others look at me like I'm stupid. Maybe they're right!Speed_Drums, blairandgretchen, Midwest Trucker and 1 other person Thank this.
