They are seeking something from the victims families. They’re demanding they go away and don’t question anything until such time as they can find a judge who will rule in MGMs favor, without really having to prove their argument that they are 100% removed from any potential fault both before and during the incident. Keyword “during”.

Just like Warner came out not paying anything for being innocent. Or McDonalds having to pay millions for a coffee spill (They were in the wrong, but to have to pay out millions.... Pure bs.) Then there are the ones that don't make national news. One of my in-laws sued Coleman and has been getting checks from them for over 20 years. The offence? The in-law went tent camping with her newborn (less than 6 months old), knocked over the gas powered lamp in the tent burning the tent down and killing the infant. Somehow this was Coleman's fault.....

No, saying that if they did nothing wrong they have nothing to fear is total bull crap. Especially if it's a high profile case.

MGM owns and operates that “Las Vegas Village” venue. They have liability insurance and umbrellas to cover unfortunate incidents that occur on their property, the same as any other property owner. And with that ownership and management comes at least some responsibilities to protect paying customers.

I'm sure they have full indemnity against acts of god and terrorist activity, both foreign and domestic.

I’m not sure this meets the legal definition of “terrorist act”. But if so, they still had the option to purchase terrorism act insurance coverage, which they may well have. But I’m not sure if this just applies to real property value or extends to potential liability losses.

Not to get offtrack, but McDonald's didn't actually pay millions, the settlement was much less. Not to mention they knowingly served coffee at a temperature that could cause full thickness burns.

I realize this is a trucking forum, but you know, facts.

So you haul for free, and on the off chance you make a dollar you immediately dispense it to the nearest man without one correct?

Another fact. That was the last day mcdonalds made a good cup of coffee. McDonald's chide wss very hot for two reasons. 1 the temperature you brew coffee effects the taste. It was brewed very hot because that's what made it taste good. 2. Being served hot meant that it was still hot when you arrived to work. Now because it's served warm we get to drink cold coffee when we arrive at the office. So because some idiot spiked coffee on herself and sued, the rest of us can no longer get a good tasting hot cup of coffee.
