So Long story short, went through DOL an a Attorney, They got served papers then after ignoring me, sends an email saying my check is ready, would not tell me the settlement amount but sent check through mail. They cheated me thousands of dollars from what they were scrapping off the top of each load, and on top of that added some ridiculous charges, I would continue to push this if they didn't pay me at all, but for 9 days of my time, and a learning lesson, I am over it now.

 

Yes, and Yes, I am over it at this point, I was not letting this go if I didn't get paid a dime for my 18k that I truly grossed, and if I lived out in Cooke County or in the Chicago region, I would continue fighting this, but I don't, Attorneys cost money, They paid me a fraction of what I actually should have been paid, but again I was only there for 9 days, if I had been there for a year before realization, and found out how much they were screwing me, I'd be in prison. I don't know anyone else but from where I'm from people get smoked for $50. After a year they would have stole more than a 100-200k. Most Attorneys will not take a contingent deal unless they see they are big players with excess of over 100 trucks. DOL is almost useless they will send your complaint out to the company in question, but after months when you finally get a case manager, and then will tell you it could be up to 2yrs before you get a court date if they dispute it. Which they will always do claiming you are an IC and not employee.

These companies that are out of Chicago are all the same. Some may put a little twist on things but ultimately you as a driver will never make what is promised unless running illegally which you shouldn't have to do if they were not stealing so much, Mob Guineas, all driving their Mercedes and Lambos to work that you paid for. Don't get me wrong you can make a quick buck if you are willing to run illegally, as if I hadn't figured out what they were doing kept my mind shut, I could make 4-5k a week even with them stealing, running illegally, knowing I should have made 10k that week, but I can't operate like that knowing a load pays 5k but they lie and tell me it pays 3k. I know a girl, that takes home 5-10k on average running all team loads doing 1400 miles a day then sleeping a couple hours,She spends all her money though and just wait to she gets in an accident and kills someone and they go through her logs and see whats happening. Of Course the company will deny all knowledge then, some will even let you book your own loads, but they will rip you off by charging you more than 2k a week in expenses for old trucks/trailers and nickel and dime you for everything even tires, all cost will be on you , and if you quit forget about that 2500-5k escrow they took as well as you last check or 2. They will send you permit, telling you to delete elogs on your phone/tablet so you can do paper logs.

I learned a good lesson and even talked to another guy if you look him up from MB Global Logistics, Under Jack Burton, hes got his own truck now and doing very well, he made 114k in net outside of taxes in 6months, but got out of this scheme,and is doing good now.

I wish there was a criminal task force to shut these ####ers down and put them in prison, or many more drivers came together united, to form a huge class action lawsuit. The thing is most of these places run under different names and MC numbers and are fly by night companies, so they will be non existent by the time a law suit hits their door.

DTA Don't Trust Anyone, that's what I live by as trust will get you killed, but I am also hard headed and take everything with as a grain of salt. I knew from reading here and reviews that most of these places sounded like scams but I am one that has to experience it for myself before making an opinion. As everyone knows there is always 2 sides to a story.

It's almost like pick your poison in this industry, American companies do the same called Fleece Purchase, pay you from 1.05-1.60 per mile while you take all the risk, paying for everything, I saw a video with a guy that grossed 300k but only took home 78k smh no benefits, or a percentage which they take way to much, then double broker loads or steal off the top as well or give you crap loads while giving their company paid drivers the cream of the crop knowing they will only pay them 30-70cpm for a load making $5-7 a mile. Even contract freight is doing $2.50-$4 a mile. Spot market is getting almost twice that. This industry is filled with unscrupulous people.

Its almost still tempting to do a chicago outfit and say screw it, I could make 200k in a year minus taxes,, and invest as I am now, and be out this industry real fast because this is nothing but a job for me, I am not connected to trucking in any other way, but do you want to risk possibly ruining your record if caught before then, or worse possibly kill someone or a family? Like that girl I know she makes good money but squanders it away on cars and other devaluing assets.
