    I think she was talking about the other driver in this video... Safe bet we all agree that the driver in the left lane wasn't being a professional... This ongoing debate is centered solely around the actions of the driver in the right lane.

    And such "emergency evasive action" would not be needed at all if the driver in the right lane knew what defensive driving meant.

    The consensus seems to be:

    JCT had a brain fart which is forgiveable

    Scottie, running in the correct lane at the correct speed is impeding traffic and that is unforgiveable

    rachi Thanks this.

    It's always amazing to me that so many people expect every one else to make so many concessions to people driving stupidly.

    If the JCT truck ran into you, or something else, just who do you think would be legally at fault?

    I know we are dealing with a generation(s) who will never accept responsibility for what they do, but if you are driving safely and legally, and you have the dash cam video and probably witnesses to boot, JCT and the other clueless people can whine all they like, but the hammer comes down on the dumbarse who was trying to squeeze by in the closing/closed lane.

    It's sad some orange barrels may die, but better to get idiots off the road who do this.
    Moving over onto the shoulder not only put you at risk, but allowed this jerk, (and too many jerks like him) to continue doing this.

    @scottied67

    Scottie, at some point you had to realize JCT's intentions. Sure, he was behaving like a douchebag, but YOU took a risk by holding a steady speed. Naturally, nothing became of this incident....BUT...had there been an accident you would have been equally at fault because you had the LAST POSSIBLE CHANCE to prevent it. Be a professional, buck up, and let the douchebag get ahead of you. Be aware of your surroundings, act professionally, or receive the "douchebag" label for yourself.

    I think when you people were kids and stole money from your mothers purse, it was her fault for leaving it out where you could find it?

    I had no idea what his intentions were. He already was doing 2 unpredictable things
    1 running in the left lane despite 3 signs saying Left Lane Closed Ahead
    2 exceeding the speed limit (which is illegal Monday through Sunday on regular roads) in a work zone

    so how could a reasonable person predict what this person was going to do next? The solution is to maintain the predictable thing myself which is to maintain the speed limit.

    If I try to guess what he is going to do next ie. i slow down what if he slows down too? If I speed up what if he speeds up too? The onus is on him to get in line and get legal. Instead he chose to do push on and do the illegal thing and squeeze by the lane closure. Very selfish and dangerous.

    Scottie don't you see he wanted to get in front of you? he was willing to kil and die to get in front. That trumps your desire to be in front Scottie even though the law was on your side Scottie you have to see that running thes speed limit and staying inthe correct lane all the time will get people killed. Scottie you should try driving without your seatbelt sometime, it is very liberating...
