Leonard's Express gamble

Update time. Camped at the Love's in St. Louis.

Knocked out the 5 hours of recap that I had and can't run again till midnight. So using a few minutes of the extra rest time updating my first little stretch back here at Leonard's. This time as a Company Driver.

My dispatcher and I picked right back up where we left off. Running good and long.

Here's my first 10 trips:

2) Lake City, FL to Auburndale, FL/picked up my gear, to Umatilla, FL to Clackamas, OR. (3,271 miles).

3) Clackamas, OR to Selah, WA to Shelbyville, IN. (2,371 miles).

4) Shelbyville, IN to Northlake, IL to Owatonna, MN. (607 miles).

5) Owatonna, MN to Le Sueur, MN to Woodburn, OR. (1,834 miles).

6) Woodburn, OR to Yakima, WA to Renville, MN. (1,783 miles).

7) Renville, MN to Gaylord, MN to Tampa, FL. (1,701 miles).

Home for a week due to my Mom's passing.

8) Tampa, FL to Lake Wales, FL to Madison, WI. (1,386 miles).

9) Madison, WI to Ripon, WI to Montgomery, MN. (376 miles).

10) Montgomery, MN to Gaylord, MN to Milwaukie, OR. (1,799 miles).

Let's see if I can do this math. 16,355 miles divided by 10 trips= 1,635.5 average trip length.

My next update will have this nice run I'm on from Clackamas, OR to Boca Raton, FL as it's opening leg .

My dispatcher mentioned the possibility of a load to San Diego that didn't happen. So I reckon he is willing to send me there.

This load that I'm on from Oregon to Florida was offered to me after he was originally going to have me run Oregon to Virginia. Of course, I chose the Florida run since I can swing through the house under the load. Should be able to get home just in time to go to church and spend Sunday with my wife before heading down to South Florida for Monday morning delivery.

14,409 miles for that 7 trip block. Average trip length 2,058 miles.

Brings my overall average for my first 17 trips to 1,809 miles average.

I did find out that detention starts at 2 hrs past appointment time and is @ $16 per hour.

Also, for my $2,000 sign on bonus. Got first $500 after my first load. Got second $500 after 30 days. Got third $500 after 60 days. I assume that the fourth $500 will be after 90 days.

And orientation pay was $400.

When I'm empty in the morning in Champlin, MN, I head to Le Sueur, MN to pickup headed back to Woodburn, OR.

Home 6 days for Christmas.
