It's a "dip your bits in the pool" state.

It's not just reefer freight. Freight in general sucks in FL...always has. Last time I was home, they deadheaded me from north FL all the way to a suburb of Cincinnati for the 1st of 2 pickups.

Yup. I remember 10 years ago with a dry van having to deadhead to Georgia out of Florida.

I talked to a couple of Lessors drivers one said he really enjoyed it there and the other said similar to what you wrote about having him waiting long for the next load often, and that mileage requirement. Seems like a hit or miss, I mean what if you're a hard runner but they have you lagging behind on the mileage because of their slow freight? Why should the drivers be denied of their benefits and their raise? Doesn't make sense to me

Hey Joe I have been reading a lot of the posts about lessors. I just started with them about 3 months ago and I really just had one question. I do have to agree I have worked for far worse companies then these guys am very happy with the equipment they have but since my third week I have been stuck running from Florida to north Carolina not a horrible run but really low miles have only been getting around 700 miles for the week. Even during all the flooding just recently they kept running me through there. My question is how the hell do I get off this run I have bill for a fleet manager and have flat out begged him to send me west since I started. At first I figured it was just the rookie break in routine but this is starting to effect my house and causing me to start thinking about looking for another job. If u have any ideas please let me know I would prefer not to leave these guys. Thanks

It's a 'come down, spend your money, then go home' state.

700 miles? That sounds crazy, I don't know how you're only doing 700 miles. But talk to the planner down in Florida, ask them for something different. And it's almost time to be chaining out here, so be prepared to do that. Already got one guy who won't, don't know what the deal is there but if you wanna run out here prepare to throw iron

I just chatted with them today they are now running me to Maryland so much better. The reason I was only get to hang 700 they were having me grab loads and meet people half way there then I sit a day and do the same wasn't getting full runs.
