I have found the biggest danger with split breaking is you need to be close enough to your next stop to make it in one 11 hour driving period. Otherwise you may find yourself 60 miles away needing to take a 2 hour break before you can get there and wind up late.

If they have more Drive time remaining than what is in the On Duty bank, time is ticking ticking ticking no matter what they do, even logging off duty.
Trip planning, what I did was buy a cheap log book from the truck stop. Each page has 5 24 hour grids. Each grid represents a day, plot when the pick up time is in blue ink with conventional 11/14 all the way to delivery, then plot split breaks in with red ink and compare which will work best.Cranky Yankee and Meltom Thank this. -
