134 days, i was in NM, told my DM to get me home for 3 weeks, from NM he wanted me to go to CA, then he said we try to get you home, He claimed he could not find a load for me back to Chicago. So after another 4 days of BS, I parked the truck, took a comcheck against money i earned and went home on greyhound. so toal of 138 days before i parked truck, called company told them where was. funny thing is 4 days after i got home, they called and wanted me to go out again.

MUSTANGGT Thanks this. -
Glad you are enjoying it. Will add some more when I can. -
By the time four o'clock rolled around, I had given up all hope of getting out of here today.
Not angry, just resigned to my fate. No need "gettin all het up", as my old uncle Percy would say.
The shipping foreman came walking out with his head down, looking like the bearer of bad news.
"Before you say anything sir, just letting you know it's alright. I ain't gonna blow up at you.
I been driving a little while now, and I know these things happen.
Weren't your fault. Now I might blow up on ole Bondo sometimes, but that's on account of him lying to me every now and again.
But I ain't got no quarrel with you. No sir" I told him.
"Well I appreciate that, I really do. And I'm just as sorry as I can be.
I don't know what happened to that guy delivering that part and nobody's answereing the phone over there either.
I just talked to Bondo and I told him I'm putting an extra $400. on this load.
I made it clear that all of that goes to you, not to be skimming none of it. Just letting you know"
"Well I dang sure appreciate it. You're a good man. Since I done decided not to hightail it outa here, reckon I can leave my trailer here?
And where's a good motel? Bar close by would be nice too"
"No problem whatsoever. I'm glad you're taking this so well. You have every right to be furious.
There's a nearly new Holiday Inn right down here on US1. Good restaurant what I hear. Bar too. Don't know what kinda women come in there, but being New Years Eve, you never know"
"Well that sounds like a winner to me boss. And don't you worry about a thing. Like I said, no need to be mad at you" -
Haven't been in a truck yet.
But I drove from my friends place at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls MT to my place in Austin, MN a few years ago in 1 sitting.
1,100 miles, 21 straight hours.
North Dakota was a breeze. Didn't have much of a problem until I got to the Twin Cities. But I figured hell, I'm an hour and a half away.
I just took my time the rest of the way and if I started to get too tired, I'd stop at a gas station and walk around for a little bit. -
