There is a shop up here, (Joplin area) family business - that my mechanic sent my 3.70's to returned as 3.55's.
I'm gonna guess they do complete axle sets too - I could get the number off Shawn if you like, I've not dealt with them personally, but Shawn has used them for years.
Looking for shop recommendations

I’m not telling you that you can’t or it won’t work, just trying to point out that things can snowball. Speaking for previous experience. If it’s what you want and you want it done in a shop in western Illinois that has a reputation for doing good work pm me.Siinman and blairandgretchen Thank this.

Just my .02, I would look for a shop that strictly specializes in Transmission and rear ends only. And, you can ask them what your trying to accomplish with the set up your looking for. Seems your trying to find the direct drive gear that will give you the speed and rpm your looking for(your personal sweet spot). I can tell you this much, when I had my RTLO redone, I ask the transmission expert what gear would put me in direct, I was surprised by his answer on a RTLO, he reminded me it’s not a RTO, anyways…… hope it works out for you, me personally for my application for what I do, I wouldn’t do any higher than 3:36, 3:55 at best. But I’m in Commiefornia so I cruise at 65 at 1400 rpm’s on a 2014 ISX, perfect Commiefornia set up. If I get gots to get up and go, I can do 80 but I’m never in that kind of a hurry. Not to mentioned I’m local.
Siinman Thanks this. -
Rtlo has OD in the front box, RTO
It is on the rear box.
both still have a 12.x and a 11.x low hole IIRC, while a true direct is a 19.xSiinman and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Oh I could just slap 2.64 and drive 65 mph in direct and still be set on the rpms. I may go that route but my rpms would be a little higher then I want em at 65. Would be 1441 if I kicked it to my first OD so 12th they would be to low at 1240 at 65 and that's on the line of lugging an isx. 1360 is the sweet spot on mine. 2.47 would give me the perfect rpm for 55-68 mph while 55 I would be in 10th and 63 to 68 I would drive in direct 11th. And still have 2 more gears if I feel froggyVampire Thanks this.

Arrow Truck in Detroit can do it all. They’re fast and affordable, mainly because they’re fast. Not because they’re cheap. They do a lot of work, including driveline, custom driveshafts and balancing. Full parts department. They don’t waste any time. Very good to deal with. A lot of Local O/O’s use them. They also have big accounts. Treat everyone equal. They went above and beyond helping me, and all I bought was a clutch fork and bushings. They even loaned me a tool over the weekend. Really impressed me. They did some driveshaft work for me, welded a yoke on. I know a lot of others who have had good experiences with them. Never heard anything negative. Located on the river, near the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. Near Casinos, Mexican Town restaurants, downtown Greek Town nightlife. You’d have to stay about 10-15 miles away in the suburbs, or rent a room at one of the Casinos. Probably be renting a car anyways. They’re fast, but probably take a couple days. I really don’t know. They’d probably be able to tell you exactly how long it would take.
Siinman Thanks this.
