    I don’t hate mine.
666,298 miles, 16 model i’ve had since 19, had the option to sale it for more than double what i gave for it but i kept it.

I've been running a 99 FLD for 15 years. In February I bought a 2017 cascadia evolution Dd15 465hp, 10 speed. 22.5 tires. Don't remember gears. 510,00 miles on truck. Freightliner dropped in a 3/4 motor it only has 80,000 miles.

    I run stepdeck. anywhere.
3 round Trip from Paris, TX. to Stockton, CA. Running 65.
My computer and paper says 7.4 mpg. I can scale 47,500. This truck is a thousand pounds heavier than my 99.

My mpg has varied from 6.5 to the 7.4 loaded. Empty can get 10.5.

Time to sell my 99. I was waiting until I was sure the ELD wasn't a problem. I like running on paper better. I'm comfortable using ELD.

I cant speak too much to freight shakers directly. That said for economy a detroit will be a decent option for economy. Not sure how to spec one for econ since im a bucket thoygh. However, a economy series X15 will also be good. Usually the econ engines do much better then the performance on fuel for ISX.

For gearing if your going to be going heavy id stick to 355s and a 13 speed, if you dont mind being a pig on the hills get 3.28s or 3.08s for gearing and that will help a tad too. Id also not recomend under 450 horse for long haul but going much above 485 is going to drop fuel econ too.

Beyond that spec everything else for the job, if you can swing it get ferrings and go for a smaller sleeper like 50 inch or so with a shorter frame. Aluminium everything that cant be plastic and/or carbon fiber and so on.

I have 2007 Pete 379. Just put 13spd transmission in less than 100k miles ago. Have had the truck 4 years. I have full custody of two if my kids and I’m divorced. It’s gotten too hard finding local work as an owner op. But I just put new kingpins in. So the whole from end is new except for springs. And it doesn’t sag. I put a head on front and rear main seals about 200k miles ago. No air leaks. No oil leaks. No check engine light. It doesn’t burn through oil real fast. Takes about 8000 miles before I have to add a gallon. But of course how hard I run and the temperature outside play into the oil life. It’s a good truck. And ready to work. I just lost my job a couple weeks ago and haven’t been able to find something that works for me. So I need to just sell the truck. Like new tires all the way around. If I can get $52,000 I’ll be happy

You should put this in the classified section.
Good luck on being a dad.
