When I see him he is taking View attachment 64667 <- these out of the truck full of random things, and bringing empty ones back. They are usually white though.

    I have found/Applied for:

    SAIA
    YRC
    ABF
    Con-way Freight

I was honest with them. I have 0 Experience with Forklifts, and no experience with LTL/Parcel Delivery type situations. When I am home next I will take a look at Soutwest Motor Transport.

Are there any others aside from Fed-Ex or UPS to check out? I can't do UPS because their starting pay would leave me eating Ramen for a year. And Fed-Ex near me is crowded with Owner Ops. There are literally 7 Fed-Ex freight drivers and 4 Fed-Ex ground that live within 10 miles of my home.

    Good start!

There might be some "mom and pop"-type operations around your area. Check around and see what they need.

UPS's starting pay leaving you eating ramen? Are you applying to Package or Freight?

Freight but they told me I'd start out around 12-14$ an hour working the dock.

Oof. Would there be any driving involved or just dock work?

Just dock work at the start, they would start to integrate me into the fleet within six months. But I can't live off 14$ an hour for 6 months.

I was hired on at about $16/hour and 41 CPM. This is the right time. Freight is picking up like crazy nation wide. Once you got a solid foot in the door, you can build up more hours. As for getting a bid right off the start.... ACH seems to have more luck than they rest of us. I am extra board... along with my 20/year veteran coworker. Take each day by stride my friend.

    Byx Thanks this.
