I have found that in hauling reefers, they tend to lean towards getting reefers (especially frozen) unloaded and counted faster than dry van or chill loads, because it has to be put away in the freezer in a timely manner. I have pulled a dry van load into a DC and was basically ignored for 2 hours before they even got to me. Yet, I saw reefers pulling in after me, and leaving before me. I have also been to places where you have an apt time with a reefer trailer, then the people that sign the BOL doesn't show up until 3 hours later, just to have you drop it and leave.

Sum it up in 2 words..."That's Truckin"

Hauling a reefer will give u less hassle and will have no shortage of loads best option sign up w/ ch Robinson I'm an O/O and I pick up all my loads from them never have to pay dispatch, never had a shortage of loads no matter where I am or what time of year it is and it's great money wise this year my gross is already $250,000 I've gone up to Maine for $12,000 and come back for $5,000 and till Boston, Florida mostly after the summer for $8,000+ all year and $5,000+ back even Florida will have loads i get once or twice after the summer till November for 10k I haul four trips a month to those states grossing way more than $300,000 a year with no shortage for loads your life will become much easier I run a 2007 Pete 386 C15 475 w/ a 13 speed and 2013 reefer by carrier empty weight of the truck is 14,500 and trailers is 12,500 w/fuel and I have 326 gallon of fuel im at 30k gets decision I made eighteen years ago to go reefer

With reefer freight you need to know your "hubs" and the general region you run... what are you willing to do and where won't you go. Reefer's on the border... you will sit a bit. I have some connections with some tomato runs that say "no wait".. um in produce and I will capitalize this.. "THERE IS ALWAYS A WAIT" Wait a bit.. but i warn you NEVER rate jump!! You will get known for that and they won't load you....
