The knight boys split off Swift around 25 years ago , and it wasn't pretty. But they have since made up. And now they are remarrying. I drove for night after I drove for Swift. Knight was lousy crooked company and treated you poorly. They had a ex cop working in safety and i think he was manifesting his cop desires on his "suspects" , us the drivers. Swift was easy kick back mellow no problem easy. Drove for them several times over the last 20 some odd years , Ive threatened to drive for them again if there not careful and I get a wild hair.

 

It might need the disclaimer "pending approval from Uncle Sam". A merger of that size will surely come under goverment scrutiny.

 

I doubt it, because it still only represents something like 1-2% of the industry. The feds only really start to take interest when you've got 1 player with 40% market share merging with another player that has 35% market share.

Besides, companies like that are EXACTLY what the government wants. Much easier to control a handful of big company than several thousand independents.

 

Is the new company going to be called Knifty?

 

That's true. Not long ago UsXpress and Celadon were scooping up other companies without any problems like there was a fire sale

 

Rearrange all the letters in Knight Swift,
And you get "Twinks Fight"
Or "Fight Twinks"

 

Ether way you look at it its not good. Friend of mine worked for a large carrier. It was bought and sold 4 times in his career.

 

So Swift will be the controlling company
